Bartenders vary here from being good to being very slow. Calls itself a sports bar but we had to ask to have the NFL on. They... didn't know the channel and had to ask the manager to help them find the game. It was a Miami Dolphins against the New EnglandPatriots and you would think it being a Florida team they would've already had it on. Otherwise this hotel is really good. Read more
Stayed at the DoubleTree on Tuesday the 30th for mine and my wife?s 7th Anniversary. After our day out in Tampa we decided we... would relax at our hotel and have a bite to eat in the convenient Restaurant/Bar located in the lobby. We walked into therestaurant and two servers at the bar paid us no mind as we debated whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Aftera minute of waiting we tried to approach a server who looked at us as we approached but turned and walked away before we reachedher to ask if we needed to wait, or just be seated. Understandable I figured maybe she had a table to get back to although therewasn?t a whole lot of people there. So we stood by the bar waiting for her to return so we could ask. As she walked back past usmy wife asked politely ?excuse me ma?am, do we seat ourselves or?- She cut my wife off rolled her eyes, and angrily barked ?YES?before walking past us and heading back into the kitchen? I spoke with the restaurant manager, ?Jake? who placated us withheadnods as we explained that his server was rather rude and we were just trying to ask her question rather than simply seatingourselves? it seemed as though he was uninterested as I explained so I shook his hand and told him to have a good night and weleft to eat elsewhere. If you stay at the DoubleTree on W.Cypress in Tampa, don?t bother with the sports bar or whatever in thelobby, there?s an AWESOME steakhouse a couple hundred feet from the hotel called Charley?s, and the food and service isimpeccable. The food was pretty good. I got something simple like bagel, potatoes & eggs! The server was nice and attentive.
Waited a very long time for my flatbread pizza like almost half an hour. Almost missed a meeting. It was warm and delicious... though. Waiter was also bartender. She was doing two jobs at once. Left a tip too. Read more
You would think its a typical place. I think its a little more. You don't find nonbreaded/non fried shrimp cocktail on the... appetizer menu just every where. For me that is a wonderful surprise. If you are staying at the double tree in Tampa. Don'trule out this place for your meal. Read more
Ate here three times during my stay. First time got hot honey wings (good) and the next two times got breakfast (served all day... which is nice for late sleepers!) Service was a little slow but otherwise good. Omelette was fantastic. Read more
Very slow service and the food was pretty bad. Ordered the URBAN BLT and ended up with a dry grilled chicken sandwich. Never... had a BLT that didnt have any tomatoes. Not sure if I should have specified pork belly but the server didn't ask. Also didn'task if i wanted tator tots, French fries, or sweet potato tots. I was served fries which was fine. The parmesan calamari wasterrible :(. I could barely eat it. It takes a lot for me to leave food on my plate and food has to be quite bad for me to leavea bad review.
