We were tourist in the area looking for a late night quick bite. A member of our party was vegan so we wanted to appease to... their dietary restrictions . We all decided to go with the flow and check this place out. Needless to say, we were highlydisappointed . I got some truffle fries and regular fries , which were basically burnt to a crisps. Someone in my party who gotthe duck poutine their fries weren?t like mine as all, it was actually edible except the leeching fat from the duck . Anothermember of my party ordered the drunken grilled cheese and it was equally as disappointing. Needless to say, we left disappointed. This place was also a little grimy and needed a bit of a deep cleaning? I would say however, the food did come pretty quick ,the server bar guy was nice. If you are looking for a hippie bar in Tampa The Mermaid Tavern is the place. They have great varieties of local beers and great... food. Don?t forget to try those truffle fries, they are better than McDonald?s. The outside patio is loud due to the traffic butinside is much quieter. They do host board game nights and various other events. Please check out the bar either you are avisitor or living in Tampa and looking for something fun to do! 2022 Edit: As the inflation is going up their quality is goingdown, no more fried with the Burger and if you want to order fries its 5$ for 20 fries! Amazing. Have been here 4 times or so, the spicy tavern burger is my favorite burger in Tampa. Photo is without cheese and... bacon, but omg with the cheese and bacon is to die for!! Friendly staff. Highly recommended. Read more
I liked the bar, went on a Friday and it wasn't crowded. I don't have a dog but I like the pet area outside. The service was... good and I enjoyed my Zombie Cider, cheese platter, and fries! My mahi-mahi just tasted like oil and was my least favourite partof my meal. Read more
Great place as well as atmosphere. Plenty of seating and parking. Nice chill vibe and music tracks. I had the Spicy Tavern... burger with truffle fries. Albeit on their own wasn?t much. But with that spicy dip was amazing. For drinks I had the mead redstone raspberry. So delicious. And paired very well with the food as well as the Daura lager. Gluten free from Spain. Simplydelicious. Highly recommend. It?s very dim inside. With nice accented unique overhead lighting. Great place. Read more

This place was such a vibe!!! It was super cute and mellow. We actually never been to this place prior & im so glad we?ve... checked it out! We were told the beer wall menu changes every week which is pretty neat. It was super clean and chill. It was socool becusse you can decide what size beers you want! So we basically did a flight!
