There were no customers at Kanka’s when I went there, probably because it was the onset of tropical storm Nicole, but the... owner, Elias, was there to explain all the items in the menu. Such a great guy he was. Anyway, Kanka’s is very clean, and myto-go order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The fried chicken and fried rice and fries I ordered was so good. I thought Icouldn’t finish that huge serving but it was so good I ended up eating it all. It’s nice to know that there is a Peruvianrestaurant not too far from my neighborhood! Absolutely delicious food AND wonderful service! The pollo a la brassa and the arroz chaufa we SO good! The best we have found... in Florida by far! The baked empanada was also really good. Even the fries were perfectly done. And the portions were HUGE! Weare going home with way more food than we were able to eat in the restaurant. Fantastic value for your money. I got the chaufa de carne (Peruvian Steak Fried Rice) and it did not disappoint! It’s so flavorful and there’s so much of it... served for only $11.99! I’m sitting here writing this review and I know I’m going to have to take a box for leftoverslol. This is place is worth the adventure! We had a great lunch at Kanka’s. The food was very tasty and the owners were super nice, they made great recommendations to... us. The fried rice and burrito had a Peruvian flare with lots of fresh ingredients. This is an undiscovered gem, also easy todrop into when going to Home Depot. Read more
The food is amazing! Recently moving here from NYC, and just 5 minutes away from the Tampa Zoo, we came here in hopes of... experiencing good Peruvian food (and I came here based on the reviews) and they did not fail me. We had the Mostrito and theLomo Saltado. The food was fresh, and plentiful (I had to take some home). The juices were so good I had to take another home. I had the Papaya and a Guayaba. The environment felt like you were relaxing at a home felt restaurant and the hostess made mykids feel at home. Overall the service was excellent and I will definitely come back. Read more
