Reviews for Tan's Asian Cafe in Tallahassee, FL
One of the better Chinese takeout places in Tallahassee. The prices are better than a lot of places, and the portion was what... you would expect. The General Tso?s was good, with a nice balance of sauce that left the chicken with a good crunch to it. Ofall the takeout only type places in Tallahassee this one has been the best so far! Read more
Wanted to try this restaurant because of the great reviews. The food texture was mushy and had a weird chemical flavor. Small... portions & no utensils given. Read more
Why would anyone purchase this food? First off this is takeout only the inside is in shambles with no place to sit and wait and... it appears as if everybody buys their food online and just rushes in to pick it up. Now for one of the things that I just don?tunderstand here in Tallahassee, this restaurant is highly rated and yet the two meals we got we?re not edible. The beef lo meinwas so overcooked it was mushy and completely dried out with a few pieces of beef that were like shoe leather, then some specialJapanese shrimp and pasta dish which turned out to be nothing more than the same over cook dried out lo Mein noodles with shrimpand a bit of egg added to it, total bill over $30 result we had to find something else to eat. Shame on any restaurant thatwould charge $15 for a handful of dried out pasta. So sad to toss $30 + in the trash! Read more
This was me and my fiancé first time eating here, and will absolutely never ever eat here again. If you ordered food here and... it was to your satisfaction, good for you. My fiancé went to get us some dinner on 7/22/22. He ordered the shrimp lo mein, fried chicken, general Tso chicken with white rice. The chicken, shrimp, and noodles all had a bitter taste to them. I had somany noodles and about 7 small shrimps. The chicken seemed to be old and refried. We spent $36.39 and did not enjoy our meal. Iate the shrimps and threw the noodles in the trash. He ate as much as he could which wasn?t much and threw the rest out. Thisplace must have gone downhill according to the good reviews I see posted. Truly a waste of money with inflation today. :( Read more
This place used to be excellent. At some point, ownership must have changed. Old indonesian favorites like Babi Rica-Rica and... Kare Ayam are no longer even on the menu. Already at the establishment, I tried ordering something else. Mapo Tofu. I got giantglobs of tofu, in what basically tasted like sweet and sour sauce with chili flakes added. I don't know what changed, but thisplace is now BAD. Not just compared to it's former glory, but even compared to other chinese in town. Bad. Bad. Very bad notgood. 1/10. Read more

I work right by this place, so I stop here for lunch pretty often. The food is fresh, it is well flavored. The Thai soup is... amazing! the Mongolian tofu is the best tofu you will ever eat! I highly recommend this place, and it doesn?t have MSG like alot of other Chinese restaurants. (No MSG bloat) It is more towards the Thai flavoring with being run by Indonesians. Try itout! Read more
Not sure why this place gets good reviews. I have tried a handful of vegetarian dishes (including pad thai) and regret ordering... every time. Food is large portions, but either too bland or spicy to the point of being inedible. If you're accustomed to eatingfrom a Chinatown (PHL, NYC, SF) or in Southeast Asia, I think you will be disappointed. The people are nice. I wish they wouldre-do their menu with tasty dishes.
