The atmosphere here is amazing and everyone is so friendly. The food is great and love that they change some items on the menu... for variety. We had lunch here sitting on the outside patio on a beautiful day. Read more

This place is always great! Food is always hot and fresh to order! The hand breaded chicken tenders and grilled grouper sandwich... with fresh cut fries are our favs when we go in! Relaxing atmosphere and cleanliness is a plus! Read more

Second time going. I also went when it first opened. Service, beer selection, and atmosphere are great. Food is kinda sad. I say... sad because it's totally edible, but just not restaurant quality. They'll serve grilled cheese and hot dogs and charge $10 -11for them. But the food is akin to something I would make at home for my kid. They're kinda stingy with the fries, but they'redecent. Expect things to be previously frozen, which is fine. I don't mind frozen stuff. But $11 for 6 frozen mozzarella sticks? That are slightly better than the TGIF's frozen ones I get at Walmart? Honestly, the best thing was my kid's chicken tenders, though you can tell they fried a frozen tender too fast because it was a little chewy. I ordered the pub dog and it was supposedto come with a pretzel bun. Instead, it was a slightly stale Great Value bun they most likely got from the Walmart one minutedown the road. Overall, everything was really nice except for the food price to food quality ratio. Read more

It's a pretty new place but we finally made it. It was nice and warm enough to sit outside. I enjoyed the grouper sandwich but... it wasn't big. My hubbie liked the Korean beef sandwich which filled him up. We didn't care for the Asian slaw. Next timewill do fries too get filled up. Our server was excellent. The punch was great. Read more

Opening weekend so I'm sure they will work out the kinks. Seems like the staff has been well trained and are enthusiastic about... the taphouse. Beer selection was good not great, I'd like to see some pints in the 7% range. My burger was a pre-made patty, Iwas pretty surprised they do not make thier own patties. I got the fries as my side and thought they were a little stingy. I'llbe back and update my review, I know they are just trying to get it figured out. I've been to Smitty's several times now, so Iwanted to update my review. They actually have a really good Philly Cheesestake, I've had both and I'd lime the traditional onemore than the Korean fusion one. The beer selection is getting better, however they are still pretty stingy with the fries. Read more

First off, I want to make it known that I attempt to be fair with my reviews so I will focus on the positives. Though I ordered... the ginger slaw, they brought jalapeno but it was fantastic! It was a nice balance to the chipotle cheesesteak. I enjoyed thatmeal and though I felt like the fried onions were unnecessary, it was a solid sandwich and the right price. Good heat and flavorbalance. We got the pretzel and would say that it had a good flavor but was too soft for my liking. Beer cheese sauce was tastythough. But now, what I'd consider mistakes. The beer list was outdated and it took multiple attempts at ordering somethingavailable. There was no new list. The variety was there but they had no west coast IPAs or amber ales. Ordered a Yuengling - theonly decent domestic - and was informed that had tapped out. My guess is because everyone orders that for 2 reasons: it's theright price and it assuages people who wanted amber ales. Again, in light of being fair, I do appreciate their list but it justdidn't have much for me. I don't like to pay to drink out but when I know I am, I want to order just one. But at these prices, Idon't even think that was reasonable. I was overcharged for my 5 ounce pour by 50 cents, according to the menu. But I didn'twant to haggle about it. The full size pour - which is still just a 10 ounce - of the Ghost in the Machine was 9 bucks, whichwas way too much. And since the menu was not updated, I didn't know it was that expensive. I obviously have not run a restaurantbut I have purchased full sized kegs and I homebrew so I feel like I understand the value in the product. Which is why I don'tunderstand why places charge 2, 3, even 4 dollars more than is reasonable for beer. It's gotten out of hand everywhere, if we'rebeing honest. Our waiter was very kind and prompt, though it did take a bit to see him to start, which was surprising becausewhen we arrived there was maybe 4 full tables. I didn't notice a problem with it being lou Read more

My wife and I were staying overnight in Tallahassee on our way to Hilton Head when we decided to get a bite to eat before... turning in for the night. After a quick search online, my wife found Smitty?s Taphouse & Grill and was intrigued by the menu. Weshowed up around 7pm and though Smitty?s was busy, we were seated promptly. We started with drinks and the Cuban Egg Rolls. Theegg rolls arrived in timely fashion and were hot and crispy. Unfortunately, the pulled pork inside had not a hint of seasoningand the egg rolls though crispy were oily as though they were not allowed to drain. I would advise that they place them onsomething absorbent when plating. Something as simple as a slice of bread would suffice. For our meals I ordered the Prime RibSandwich and my wife ordered the Five Cheese Grilled Cheese. The prime rib was not tender or pink at all. Either it was poorquality or had been sliced and sitting all day and then grilled before made into sandwiches which would have led to overcooking. The Grilled cheese was okay but nothing more special than you could make in your own kitchen. At the end of the day ourvisit wasn?t horrible but after reading the descriptions of the food, we were looking forward to what Smitty?s had to offer.Unfortunately, it seems Smitty?s true strengths lie in marketing and not food prep. OBTW, this place IS loud, not was as statedin response to a previous posting. Read more
