Was visiting Tallahassee for a job function and searched google for black owned businesses. Visited here and had the... chitterlings and let me say they did not disappoint. Went to Ms. Dees by recommendation from a client. The food was amazing! The sweet tea was the best I ever had and the meatloaf... and sides were awesome! If you're missing New Times Buffet then this is the place for you. My friends said the fried chickenwas out of this world as well. I LOVED this place. I also felt like in grandma?s kitchen. The food smelled delicious and tasted even better!! I ordered the... fish sandwich and was very satisfied. Very fresh and tender, they cook it upon you ordering it. Portion was HUGE! My wifeordered another fish sandwich and my kid also loved it. The Mac and cheese was awesome. Another person in my party (verydemanding with the food by the way) said the chicken was excellent. The lady serving was very friendly. Be aware this is a smallbusiness, not super fancy but it?s a great opportunity to try delicious southern food. I think it?s a hidden gem. So I stopped her for lunch with my mentor and the smell was so good my mouth started watering. The customer service made me feel... like I was in my grandma's kitchen. I'm not eating meat Currently so I'll have to try it after Lent. However My mentor waseating it and the meat was falling of the bone. The portions are huge and the juice is special. I am highly disappointed. I wanted some southern fried chicken but it was dry, hard and old looking. I asked the server how long... it had been sitting out and she told me it had just came out of the grease 15 minutes ago! I?m sorry but fresh fried chickendoesn?t look like that. I tried to choose something else from the line but everything looked dried out; maybe the buffet unitwas too high or maybe it was just an off day, but it shouldn?t be with those prices. Update: Thanks Ms. Dee, a refund won?t benecessary. I was actually getting ready to edit my message because that was only the negative part. Always good customer service with some of the best soul food in the city. Smothered pork chops was fall off the bone tender and... seasoned just right. Prices are affordable with good portion sizes. Perfect spot for Sunday dinner. Read more
Food was okay. Ox tails seemed more like neck bones to me and were boiled and had a lot of fat on them. Rice/gravy was bland.... Sides we okay. Greens tasted like mustard greens. Based on reviews, I expected better tasting food. Especially for the price! Read more
