You know a place is good when it?s the locals? Go To for breakfast. The staff greeted several people by name, which tells me a... lot about their fare, and even more about their customer service. My friend and I had the oft-served Two Egg Breakfast and theBannerman Bowl. The former with lots of breakfast favorites on a platter, the latter with anything that wasn?t on that platterin a bowl with grits. Both were fabulous! I have to make special mention of the biscuit, because it was a real southern flakysoft biscuit. I?ve eaten lots of biscuits, even in places that name themselves after their biscuits, and this topped them. Thiswas the kind of biscuit your grandma was rolling out well before you were born and sustaining families on for breakfast andsupper every day. Gotta get a biscuit. Enjoy your meal AND get a T-shirt. There will be a wait, but it?ll be worth it. Read more

Wife and I visited on a Sunday morning and we were treated with excellent service and food all around. It was a team effort for... service and it was probably some of the best breakfast service we have ever had. Atmosphere was great. Quiet and a great smalldiner feel with modern touches and exactly what I would want for a peaceful Sunday morning breakfast with my wife. Food was theperfect speed to come out. Not too fast where you wonder if it was made when you got here, but not slow at all. Great speed. When the food came out it was incredibly fresh and the quality of the ingredients and cook on everything was perfect. I got thechicken and waffles and portion was on point. I wish the chicken had a bit more seasoning in the batter but over all greatchicken strips for sure. Wife got the bannerman bowl with veggie sausage and the veggie sausage was great too! Greatvegetarian options, quality food and service and we will absolutely be coming back here again. One of the best breakfast spotsin Tallahassee NO DOUBT. Read more

Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago with the fam. The service was fantastic. Very personable and attentive staff. The food... was delicious, as well as the coffee. We were only in town for a couple of days, but will definitely go back the next time we'rein Tallahassee! Read more

I had the BLT and it had tons of delicious crispy bacon. My friend changed her order 3 times but she still loved the eggs and... grits. The server was patient and nice. $ 2.25 is too much for a pepsi. Read more

The bacon is bangin'! Eggs were great, home fries perfect and crispy. Wouldn't sub toast for pancakes again though.

Quite the mellow and simple place with an analog music background to keep the vibe alive - was playing the classic Isley... Brothers... I ordered the fried chicken biscuit covered in sawmill gravy and a side of cheese grits. The chicken is perfectionand should be ordered regardless of how you want it! One of the best in town. Grits are solid! I wish they would step up theirpork sausage options for breakfast. Staff is super nice :) Read more

We stopped in at 9:00 on a Saturday morning during their second week in business. We miss the diners that we used to frequent... when we lived in the Northeast, so were eager to give Ma's a try. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a local diner. Iwanted to try a few things (plus I was hungry) so I went with the build your own breakfast: 2 eggs, scrambled; biscuit which theserver said was not made in house but was baked in house; sausage party; grits; and 3 pancakes. The eggs were expertly cooked, better than I've had at most places in town. The grits could have used salt and, candidly, were not very warm. The biscuit andsausage were ok. The pancakes, however, were excellent. The room has 7 tables and 8 seats at the counter. So you will likelywait a little at busy times. We loved the vintage turntable console as you walk in, and the functioning vintage turntable in theback playing tunes. And one of the cutest touches was the tiny milk bottles that they give you with the coffee. You can squeezeor just the amount you need. Read more
