Fly By Philly's was "ok"! The service and atmosphere was great! The crinkled crab fries are a must try. Actually they were my... favorite. My daughter and I tried the cheese steak Philly and hubby had the shredded chicken Philly. Both sandwiches were dry.The cheese steak did not taste like rib eye meat. The chicken Philly was seasoned well, just dry! The fountain drink machinewasn't working, so we didn't order drink refills, but they said we could. I just felt bad to order a refill and they wouldhave to use another can soda (which doesn't tastes as good as a fountain drink). We tried FBP as a suggestion from TallahasseeFoodies. I love this place! And for so many reasons! :) First off, the onion rings were the best I have ever had! They are proud of... them, and they have every right to be! :) Speaking of pride, their Italian Stallion sub (meatball) is made with Blake's(owner) grandmother's recipe! I actually passed on getting the Philly I have been craving for quite some time to try it afterhearing Casey rave about it! :) Speaking of Casey, the way he handles himself, I mistook him for being the owner. He is one ofthose people every employer just dreams of having! :) I loved getting to talk to the owner, Blake. He admitted they are stillworking on getting the place to what they want. The service was great. We were greeted with a smile, and the food came out quick. Unfortunately, the sandwich was horrible. The... meat had a weird flavor, it tasted like some kind of frozen meat product, it definitely was not steak. There was hardly anycheese, if cheese is in the name I expect to taste cheese. The only thing fresh was the lettuce and tomato. The fries were good.But I didn't go there for the fries. I've had better Philly's at the mall. Read more
Very good philly's right here in Talllahassee. I added lettuce and tomatoes at an additional cost. The fries are tasty as well.... Service is great and fast. The restaurant was a little warm for my liking but hopefully they can get it right soon. I will beback for my next Philly craving. Read more
Tonight we just wanted some comfort food. We had the dogs and needed outside seating. We stopped at Fly By Philly's and we're... greeted with a smiley staff member. We ordered our food and was accommodated with my request for an extra serving of steak forthe dogs to share. Within minutes the owner, Blake (who is actually from Philly), came out to let us know he was preparing thedogs meat separately without onions because he knew they were bad for dogs. THEN he brought out their serving and fed it to themby hand! Y'all. THIS GUY. Needless to say Fly By Philly's has over the top service, is pet friendly and who wouldn't supportthis cool. Very good and quality ingredients. Pretty fast for what you get and i got super fresh fries (hard to get most places lol). My... only complaint and what kept it 4 not 5 stars was how little of cheese I had. It Deff should get as much cheese as it does steakimo and it had so little provolone, it made me feel like I was eating a steak only Phillie. This place is the most Authentic Philly joint I?ve been too outside of Philly! Shaved ribeye, Amoroso bread rolls, Wooder ice,... Philly pretzels, and more Philly indulgence! Very nice indoor seating area & outside seating is perfect anytime of the year witha gorgeous oak tree shade! Looking forward to their beer and wine bar with entrees next month! Oh and breakfast!! I ate half the sub before I took the picture. I got a cheese steak with provolone and added Cherry peppers. The sub was... delicious and the service was top notch. Atmosphere was great too. Definitely will be back. Read more
