My parents came in town to visit and decided they wanted tapas so we looked up places to go and found this newly opened... restaurant. It was a great find!! We had such a great lunch outside! Our server was Alexa and she was amazing. Super helpful, very friendly, and overall great server. She let us try a new Halloween cocktail that she had created for their menu and it wasdelicious. We ordered 5 small plates and two desserts all of which were delicious. The inside is so well done, we definitelyhave to come back and sit inside to get the full experience. I’m so happy we discovered this place! Read more

What a treat for Tallahassee. Casa Tapas & Cantina provides a dining experience as one would find in Madrid, Spain. For those... that have never dined on Tapas, they are basically small plates of food that you can share with others. They\'re essentially barsnacks, but you order several different plates to eat as a meal. One of the best things about tapas is if there are a few of youdining together, they\'re a great way to sample a range of dishes without over-ordering and/or spending a lot. Michelle and Ienjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back again. Make sure you order a plate of Churros for dessert! I highly recommendCasa Tapas & Cantina for a tasty dinner alternative in Tallahassee. Read more

Food was good in general. Our chicken (pincho/skewer) was a little dried but not that bad. We was not sure if it was supposed to... that charred. The medium cooked beef (pincho/skewer) was perfect. Our kids like the scallop dish and dessert. There were a lotsof fried chopped potatoes (not French Fried) came with our food (interesting!). I like the way the chef arranged food on theplates. Our waitress was very nice. The building and furniture looked like they were fixed up and upgraded from the oldsteakhouse. It\'s great to see something new in this town. The waitress said this was Spanish food restaurant (not Mexican). Thefirst Spanish restaurant we tried was in Rose Mary Beach. Food was better and also more expensive. Read more

I cannot recommend. There were some serious problems with the food at this establishment. A croqueta is not a beschamel log... rolled in panko and fried. There is supposed to be enough ham to give it sufficient flavor and consistency. Avoid the gaspachoor drink a can of tomato purée. Avoid the paella especially if you’ve ever had an authentic paella. That’s a lot of moneyfor the Americanized Spanish rice you’ll end up with, doused in that tomato purée. What is it with them and the purée? Theold fashioned seemed decent. Read more

Great new tapas bar here in Tallahassee. The “redo” of this historic Tallahassee location is sophisticated and polished. We... ordered the Sangria Flight to start so we could sample multiple flavors. We really liked the white and the blackberry flavors. We ordered two tapas and a main for our meal.\n\nWe started with the Sahimi Tostadas. This dish is made with ahi tuna andavocado spread served on top of two large round tortillas. The fish was high quality and very fresh. Each tostada has a veryhealthy serving.\n\nNext, we had the Scallops Gallega. This dish came with four large scallops served on a bed of Yukon potatocubes (same cut as the patatas bravas). The scallops were seared and the dish was finished with paprika, olive oil, and otherseasonings. The scallops were very well prepared.\n\nFor our main dish we ordered the Pinchos de Red. This dish came with twogrilled skewers with marinated top sirloin beef chunks, bell peppers, and onions. It was also served with patatas bravas and ahouse salad. The beef was tender and well prepared.\n\nThe service was attentive and responsive all evening. Alexa and the restof the staff did a great job. The manager stopped by to see how we liked our meal. We gave him our feedback and made somesuggestions for things we would like to see on the menu for future visits. He had the chef stop by a bit later to say hello andask us for some more feedback. They had had some feedback from other customers when they first opened to make dishes that weremore familiar and with a milder flavor profile. We were “pushing” (just a bit) for them to try and expand the other way. Itwas really great that they were so open to feedback.\n\nCasa Tapas and Cantina is definitely on our “try it again” list toexplore more of the menu. It is great to finally have someplace here in Tallahassee serving this unique cuisine in a greatsetting and with solid service. If tapas are a favorite of yours, we definitely recommend a visit.
