We ordered ahead but still has to wait for the food. We arrived at 11.30 (they open at 11am) and we appeared to be the second... customers to be served. When we picked up our food at the counter it was hot! Everything tasted good and was fresh. The pitaswere toasted for the hummus and that was a pleasant crunch. It was tasty, I wished that I had a little more tzatziki sauce onmy classic gyro with tomatoes. Read more

We don't know what has happened at Captain Pete's...it used to be very good. It took almost 30 minutes to receive our order of 3... Gyro Deluxe plates with Pita Fries. We were the first there so they were not busy. The fries were way over cooked to the point ofbeing totally burnt dark brown and crunchy. We were surprised they would serve them. The Gyro bread and meat was over cookedtoo. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook but this was not what we expected from Captain Pete's. Read more

Have been there when it is super crowded to when it's a bit deserted. Each time, it's an exceptionally long wait for food. The... food is really good, but be prepared to wait. Perhaps they should have more staff on hand or pay their staff more... Read more

Not fresh or authentic. The meat was some processed flat piece of something, I don?t actually know what kind of meat it was.... There wasn?t any red onion and I couldn?t find cucumber. The sauce on it was good but not very strong tasting. They don?t haveFrench fries which is a must on gyros if you?ve ever been to Greece. I couldn?t finish my deluxe gyro. Read more

We were greeted the moment we walked in to this counter serve eatery! The young lady at the counter was quick to help and... explain the different menu items on the wall! We ordered the deluxe gyro with humas and pita for the side. The meal was a largeproportion on both the gyro and the humas! One of the best gyros my wife and I have had! The meat was juicy and hot! All vegieswere full of color and fresh! The taziki sauce was spot on! Drink with the combo was an all you can drink fountain drink. Orderwas a little slow coming out but well worth the wait. I will say I feel do to the freshness of everything it was because it wasmade to order not pre prepped! We will be going back to visit this place on a regular basis! Couldn't have been happier! Captain Pete's House of Gyros is owned by a brother and sister team. Not only do they own it, but they also work there 6 days... of the week. These are quiet, nice people who work hard to put out a darn good product. I ordered 2 items; The Camel and aspecial order King Gyro. I like my gyros with cucumbers instead of tomatoes, and was happy when they agreed to the substitutionwith a smile. The King Gyro is a pretty fine gyro. They toasted the pita, which was a surprise, as so many just use the coldpita right out of the package or slightly steamed. This Gyro was loaded. Gyro meat, onions, plenty of garlicky tzatziki sauceand finished with a hefty amount of feta cheese. The camel is a whopper of a sandwich, and one I don't recommend you try to eatin your car or while wearing white. It's listed as pepper ground beef, but it's so much more, The sauce is intriguing (and maynot be for everyone) reminding me of the minced meat filling found in Moussaka. It has an undertone of cinnamon, or one of thespices in that family. Loads of beef filling, onions, tomatoes and tzatsiki sauce. I added a finishing touch of hot sauce whichmade this pita a very satisfying sandwich. I noticed a few reviews where people mentioned high prices and one saying they spentalmost $30 on 2 sandwiches. These 2 came to $17, which is on par for most sandwich places that serve hearty selections. Thesewere hearty, filling and very tasty. Read more
