Brisket was delicious, pulled chicken, pulled pork was good also. Loved the mustard sauce. My only problem is the food is served... from a bar by staff and it isn't hot. Had to ask them to warm meats. They fixed another tray with warmed meat as they didn'twant to reheat what had already been given which is understandable. Not sure if this is how it's always served but, heatedserving area needs to be installed if not already in place..inside and outside seating area. Read more
A casual counter serve bbq establishment located just outside of midtown in tallahassee. The food is filling and tasted pretty... good. While I have had better bbq elsewhere, but not in the tallahassee area! Rhe mustard based bbq sauce option is delicious.Ordered the destroyer (brisket, onion ring, cheese, jalapeños, Brioche bun). The fried okra was hot, the mac and cheese wasdisappointing, the baked beans were a overcooked but the sauce was okay. The sandwhich and the brisket was good. The sweet teawas delicious, not overly sweet. The seating is communal tables. Overall it is okay, would order the sandwhich but not thesides. Update 9/3/22: ordered takeout and got the messy pig with sweet potato casserole and smoke jalapeños. Delicious! Thetake out window is outside. I could not use the giftcards to pre-order online, but ordering at the window took about 20 minutesfor three sandwiches with two sides each. Read more
I am updating this review based upon their excellent customer service in addressing my complaint and I will definitely give them... another try. Customer service was 5 star. "We expected it to be better" was the consensus of our party of four. We had brisket,pulled chicken, slaw, mac and cheese, fries, collards, corn bread, and bread pudding. The brisket was so salty that it wasuneatable. This is coming from someone likes food on the salty side. The corn bread was dried out and hard as a rock; alsouneatable. The fries tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. The slaw and mac and cheese were okay; nothing special butacceptable. The pulled chicken and collards were good. I got the Mac Attack off the inflation menu and was worried about the portion size(it is an inflation menu), but was pleasantly... surprised to get a large serving! My buddy got the Pulled pork sandwich with fried Okra and Mac and cheese, along with a Reese?scookie. I personally prefer 4 Rivers to Mission BBQ and really like their hot BBQ sauce! Best BBQ in the world? It just might be! I visited this location in April 2021. I felt compelled to write a review as this place... deserves more hype! I have traveled all over the USA and have eaten at many BBQ restaurants. A couple of weeks ago I ate at thefamous Franklin BBQ in Austin TX. Many regard Franklin as the best, but I have to say, I think 4Rivers is better overall! I'vehad the Brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and sausage. All were excellent! Compared to Franklin, the turkey was better at 4R (sojuicy!), and the Brisket, Sausage, and pulled pork were right up with Franklin, if not better in some ways. And I didn't have towait multiple hours to get it :) It's seriously delicious. The sides were all very good- several options and tasty. Only smallgripe was I thought the Jalapenos were small and needed more filling. Service was great, friendly staff, and moved through theline quickly. Location was clean. Really enjoyed the patio seating. After this experience, I take everyone I can to eat at 4R.Family, friends, coworkers, anytime I have the opportunity. Everyone has loved it. Still in.my opinion the best BBQ around. The sides are just wonderful and the atmosphere is really nice. Food can't say enough... about always consistent in flavor and quality and the management is spot on. The staff always friendly even during the busiertimes. Keep it up 4 Rivers. Read more
There was ample parking, the establishment was in a safe location, and was a family environment. It was clean and sanitary with... a cute barrel made sink to wash/sanitize your hands. The food was just okay. My shredded chicken sandwich meat and bun were coldand so was my friend's meal. The great part for me was the large slice of coconut cake was delicious. It was worth the purchase.I will buy the cake once more . Read more
