Reviews for WinCo Foods in Tacoma, WA
Awesome place to shop for all your grocery needs. Rivals the low prices to Walmart, and the sales at Fred Meyers and Safeway.... Very clean, both the store and parking lot. The employees are really chill and do a really good job. Always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and especially the most approachable compared to all the other grocery stores. Other positives are that the flowof the store is great, they have a sense of humor, and they have most of the products that I'm looking for. Only downside, theyhave limited cashiers on holidays and weekends, and it tends to get backed up when checking out. I would suggest shopping earlyin the morning or during the weekdays. The cashiers are amazing and always do their best. I hope everyone gets a raise. ? Madlove to my local Winco. ? Read more
The store in Tacoma is no longer open 24hrs which sucks since I'm rarely off work before midnight...they close at 1am...Which... would give me enough time if they wouldn't start announcing they are closing at 12. So the entire time I'm shopping they aregiving the countdown to closing and urging me to wrap it up and make my way to the register. The thing I dislike the most isthey are stocking at this time so there are so many boxes stacked in the aisles you can't get a cart through and there areforklifts (and the beeping) flying around. I mean they close now for several hours why can't they stock during the closedtime???? Read more
Prices is almost higher than Safeway and Fred Meyer, and plus you have to bag your own groceries. Walmart prices is pretty high... too, but you groceries is bagged for you. I wanted to buy some vanilla beans and WinCo was charging 10.00 for one bean. Read more
The selection here is getting a lot better. Random items like sauces and uncooked pasta options just weren't there. Cheapest... pellets for grills you'll find, although you only have a couple of options. The dried food, candy or flour in bins options arequite extensive. The deli has decent fried foods like chicken and burritos. None of the pre made food is health focused. Theregular deli meats and pastas aren't bad either. Produce is usually as fresh as Safeway and maybe even Fred Myers. In generalthey're prices are closer to something like Costco, but just not quite as good. They also sometimes seem cheap quality homeitems that you'll want to be wary of. Parking is terrible though. In general, great place. Read more
Since my husband works swing and my daughter works nights we have adopted that type of schedule so mostly going to WinCo to shop... at about midnight when they are getting ready to stock shelves and are often out of things on the shelf which makes it kind offrustrating. Going to winco on a Sunday early evening was real nice because the shelves were stocked and like every place elseprices have gone up but you can still get a good deal here and it's nice to know that. What a huge life saver WinCo is for many families struggling with record inflation! When I compare prices to Safeway and... Walmart, it?s an easy 20% lower grocery bill. And the produce is more fresh than both all the time. Not enough people buy freshfruit and veggies at the Safeway in Hilltop, so there?s a small selection and not always fresh. Winco is always packed so theturnover makes for fresh selections all the time. My favorite item at WinCo is the fried potato wedges because of the price andquality. There?s always a fresh batch and I?m just addicted to them. I wonder if I?m the only fan of the Winco. Wedges but ifyou haven?t tried them, I highly recommend. I also highly highly recommend the cheese bagels! They were recently on sale at afantastic price, so check out my pic to make sure you get them because they are so delicious and fresh! I still can?t believe Igot a bag of 6 fresh Championship level bagels for under $2? WinCo bakery is so under-rated it?s unbelievable. I love theirsourdough bread but since it?s pricey right now, I started to buy the French bread but the best deal is maybe the 10 Englishmuffins for like $2. Tell me if these bagels can?t compete with bagel shops in Seattle? Because I think they are championshipquality! Read more
I love this store, I live in university place and it is somewhat of a drive but for me it is worth it. They have a huge parking... lot so it is easy to park and go in. Their prices are cheaper than their competitors. I love the bakery section, especially thecinnamon rolls and the fritters that they have. They usually always have what you need from frozen to deli to fresh food topremade food. They have a little bit of everything for the picking. Great store. WinCo, I love you Read more
The best place to buy quality and save money while doing it (cf. Costco!) Great selection of healthy basics - whole grains,... fresh and frozen fruit, vegetables and dairy. And great customer service - including just this morning from Danny in the meatsection. Read more
