Definitely like the original Daniella's better. This second location felt like you were in a hotel ballroom at a wedding. The... whole dining area is completely open with no partitions and all banquet style tables and banquet chair covers on all the chairs. It gave us a really strange vibe. They had live music on Saturday night so that was the saving grace. I ordered the lobstergnocchi and it was much heavier than I thought but did have a ton of lobster on it. My husband ordered the filet but it wassuper burnt on the outside and he sent it back. They made him another one but the burnt taste from the first version ruined histaste. We will unfortunately not be back. Read more

The "new" location has consistently been one of our favorites pretty much since the opening. The flavors are always unique, yet... pair well perfectly. Steak is some of the best I have ever had. Even the bread and butter has that "something special." Thereason for 4/5 stars is because the menu rotates seasonally (which is wonderful), but has been serving the Spring menu now forthe better part of a year and it has been, quite honestly, my least favorite menu thus far. Would love to see something new -soon. Additionally the drinks are good, but the one area I feel the skill lacks a bit. However the pumpkin whiskey last yearwas an all-time favorite. Read more

The food was delicious! I had the Braised Short Rib and I would absolutely order it again. Large portions, great wine and drink... selection and the fresh bread with the homemade honey butter was so good! The service was excellent and we were very pleasentlysurprised to be checked in on during our meal by the owner, Charlie. We also liked relaxing on the beautiful patio and the livemusic which was very enjoyable. We live in Rochester but next time are in Syracuse, we will definitely be coming back or wewill be trying Daniella's Steakhouse. Great experience, I highly recommend! Read more

We just had Easter brunch it was very good, many choices and as always amazing staff. Bloody Mary looked great but with the... horseradish it was more like a cocktail sause to me. We have been to the seafood part many times and always think it's the bestin Syracuse. Enjoy all. Read more

Daniella's has a lot to offer and some truly phenomenal tastes. It also falls short in some areas, and for the cost of the... experience needs improvement before 5 stars can be given by me. Let's start at the top... They take reservations and I'drecommend obtaining one. The place wasn't completely full, but if you're trying to do some impulsive fancy dining there isalways a chance they won't have immediate space. The setting itself starts off strange as you are entering the building, goingthrough small hallways with plenty of bathrooms. Once you turn the corner that opens into the restaurant it's a beautifulsetting, with welcoming ambiance and a professional musician playing/singing at the perfect volume to enhance your experienceand keep you grooving. A nice table setting with friendly staff who were quick to see what we needed. The service felt wellpaced to slightly slow, but given the fact you may likely be here for a special occasion and trying all kinds of differentfoods, the pacing is probably good for the tummy. The drinks were enjoyable. Everyone at our table was pleased, no one wasblown away. The food: the bread and butter was delicious. Fresh, warm and delicious! Don't hold back, enjoy yourself here. Thehouse salad, it was an average house salad, nothing special. The main courses, everyone thought this meal was cooked toperfection. From the various proteins, pork, lobster, steak, scallops to the various pastas on the table. Beautifully done!Extra special shout-out to the bone in pork chop it was the table favorite, absolutely phenomenally done. The sides... Ratherdisappointing. The veggie portion is bland and scarce on the plate. The wild rice was bland but plentiful. Others didn't haveother sides so no comment available on the other options. The dessert: Definitely don't want to pass these up. They do bringthem out to the table to show them off to you, which I always enjoy. From what we ordered, every single one was loved and theyare bui Read more

My wife and I arrived on a Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. There were no other diners in the cavernous indoor dining room. By the... time we left at 6:30 p.m., only one other couple had been seated. After being open almost a year, this place is obviously notgetting business from repeat local customers, but rather from captive audiences attending fairground events. The interior designis rather stark. The modern minimalist theme has black and white, aluminum and glass, and poor lighting. The first thing toarrive at our table was cold bread. My wife let me sample her appetizer of lobster on bib lettuce. The lobster was tough andchewy and neither of us could detect the promised cilantro in the lime-based sauce. I fared better with Greens Gentile as astarter. It was a good take on Utica Greens, except that the broccoli was nearly raw. As a main course, my wife found thelobster risotto bland. It proved better as a leftover the next day after seasoning. My mushroom risotto had flavor, but also twodetractors. First, it appeared that the mushrooms consisted of a combination of fresh and reconstituted dried mushrooms.Unfortunately, some in the latter category had not been properly rehydrated and they were tough, and in one case, totallyinedible. Second, instead of the promised arugula garnish, the risotto was topped by a large glob of wet spinach. For me, thespinach did not pair well with the mushroom flavors, so I spooned it off onto my bread plate. For dessert, we shared the almondcake with ice cream. It was very good. In the past, we have been keen fans of chef Kevin Gentile, and he was the reason my wifechose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. He was present in the kitchen overseeing the preparation of our meal ($185.00with tax and tip), which made the experience's shortcomings even more disappointing. Read more
