Ohh noooooo.... the reviews led me astray on this one!!! While this place is quaint and welcoming, and the owners vibrant and... endearing; the food and drinks here fell short completely. To start everything was SWEET. The coffee, the bbq sauce, the sides(coleslaw/beans); everything tasted like it was from a bulk tub of something and overly processed. Nothing was made from scratchand half of it was inedible. It's not saying much, but the meats were the saving grace and had a nice smokiness to them? theywere unfortunately slathered in a thick layer of sauce (see pic). If you're looking to support a local small business and wantsome basic bbq, this place is for you. If you're looking for the best smoked bbq in the greater Los Angeles area, this ain't it.There's so many great smoked bbq spots in LA (Slab, Bludsos, Moo's, APL, Swinging Door), save yourself the heartache weexperienced. Just an all around solid experience every time. If you're a BBQ purist you could probably nit pick some problems but I have no... complaints. Viv and Bruce are fantastic people with a passion for feeding their community and their love comes out in the food.Breakfast burritos are on point, BBQ is delicious and never dry, coffee is always solid. The food is absolutely delicious. The tri-tip was made to perfection, The coffee is absolutely the best. The hint of Chai it has... truly gives it something unique and great.Bruce and Vivian are wonderful people, and let's not forget the epic decor this placehas! Finally made time to come try this place out. Thanks hood foodie for the recommendation. Let me start by saying as soon as you... get near the parking lot you can already smell the deliciousness. I had the tri tip sandwich boy was it loaded. the meat is solean and cooked to perfection. I also had 3 sides beans,coleslaw, n potato salad. All these sides just go well with the food.Unfortunately I didn't try the ribs,but I will be returning to give them a try. The sandwich was very savory definitely a hit inmy opinion. Read more
Just went there today and could not leave a review fast enough. Great customer service, awesome Kool-Aid (Yes Kool-Aid), chill... and comfortable eat in and amazing food!! Potato salad and BBQ beans AMAZING! Sammich AMAZING, a little too much Bbq for myliking, but it was still so delicious! Will definitely return for more, and might try the breakfast burritos next ???? It's a small hole in the wall but the food I got was great. The lady taking our order is very nice and full of energy. I like... that u smell the food cooking as you enjoy your own food, kinda gets you more hungry. They also make their own brownies and theyvary at times. Viv was a doll! She was so on top of helping us out with what to order and we ended up getting the family meal with all three... meats. The ribs were soft, the trip tip juicy, and the chicken smokey! I personally loved the beans and potato salad and myhusband could have eaten all the cole slaw. And to top it off we have so many leftovers! So excited to eat some more later. Omg! Loved in San Fernando for 9 months and have slept on this place! It was absolutely amazing! What I like about the meat the... most is you can taste the smoke flavor. I?d add just a little salt, that?s all. The beans were freaking perfect, and the potatoesalad was perfect!!! I will always be coming here to get some bbq every payday!! Oh and her customer service is beyond superb!!Very friendly even to a outsiders face, meaning I?ve never been there. I didn?t get her name, but sweetie you areamazing!!!!!!!
