First visits equal first impressions, and it was a good one. Their dosas were wonderfully crisp and they came with their usual... accompaniment of sambar and coconut chutneys. This is our second visit. The first time we came there was very less salt in all their dishes including chutney and sambar. This... time they were good. We tried onion uthapam, chillie idli and onion rava mysore masala dosa. All of them tasted good. Sambar isalso good compared to other restaurants where we have had South Indian food. I tried couple of times here. Again decent briyanis. Quantity of meat in the briyani and it is very good and price of the food... are cheaper than other restaurants. If you are from Tamil Nadu and love to have Chennai style briyani, this is decent place. Onething is that you can?t expect the same briyani alike from Chennai. I think they precooked or make the briyani meat masala andcook with rice and serve it. Yes here in Canada, in the restaurant they only do that. I?m from Coimbatore, desperately loving tohave seraga samba briyani, but bad luck I can?t find in any restaurants in Canada. ?? Read more
Had a couple of issues during the visit. 1) They don't serve rava dosas after 9 pm, this isn't mentioned in their menu or even... told when we walked in. When I mentioned that you could have given us a heads up since we went specially for it rather than anapology we were told 'it's okay' as if it is our fault. Again, I am not saying they should keep serving till later, they canserve till whatever time they want (although 1 hour before closing is abnormal) but they should be giving this informationupfront so people can decide whether to stay or leave and not in the middle of the meal. The easiest solution is to just printit in the menu card. 2) I was not given the bill before paying hence as customary I added a tip and paid the amount on themachine, I had to specifically ask for the bill to get it and to my surprise there was already a service charge (norm is for 6+people we were 5) in it. It is very shady and unethical on the restaurant's part to do this and try to extort double tips. Againservice charges are not uncommon but not disclosing them in the menu is unethical and letting people tip without knowing aboutthe service charge is doubly unethical. Read more
