This fish bar has a wonderful view of the ocean. It's too bad that the food we ordered was less memorable. The seafood chowder... my gf and I ordered had very little seafood, it had maybe 3 small pieces of salmon and I had to look for the shrimp only to finda little piece of one and there wasn't any cod at all, this was more of a potato and carrot chowder soup ($12.50). Expected moresalmon, cod and shrimp, especially when you're by the ocean. My friend ordered the deep fried calamari, it had a few goodpieces of calamari but also had pieces of just batter, not worth the $17. The margarita my other friend ordered was served in aglass that had a noticable chip and crack on the side which they thought they could hide it with a slice of lime. Guess theydidn't think she was going to remove that slice of lime before she drank her drink. Brought it to our waiter's attention and hereplaced it right away. Guess we just paid for the view. I was having a fish & chips craving, so my husband took me to Crescent Beach for a cute lunch date and we ended up going into... Hooked Fish Bar because of the location, which was perfect as it overlooked the water. It was a Saturday early afternoon and wesat outside on their patio which most of the customers were since it was a beautiful afternoon. The person who sat us wasn't themost friendly staff, but luckily the server we had was very polite and sweet. We ordered two beers, the Fish & Chips, I had theone piece and my husband had two. Our drinks came quickly and by the time I had a few sips, our food was already at our table,so the wait time was not long at all. The food looked good, but the tartar sauce lacked flavor and could have used a bit morehelp in the relish and lemon department. The coleslaw was also nothing to be excited about as well; the lack of flavor was themissing component to the entire dish. It wasn't terrible, but it also also wasn't great. The positive side was the fries weredelicious and the fish did have a nice amount of batter to it, ratio and color wise. The food was a bit pricey for the amountyou get - for 2 beers and fish & chips, the price was $65, which seemed a bit steep for what we got; I guess that the price youpay for the view. All in all, the view and service was great. Read more

The Hooked Fish Bar has great seating right next to the ocean, and they also have a very convenient take out window on the side... of the restaurant. The service is great, the food doesn't take long to receive and it's great to be able to eat it on the beach. The coconut prawns were delicious- fresh, crispy and flavourful, with a good dipping sauce to go with it. Crescent beach. A sweet unpretentious seaside restaurant with an outdoor patio and great views of the ocean. Yummy Calamari and... fish tacos filled us up. Peaceful and quiet. Liscensed, accessible, small parking lot. Say hi to Ali who's working all summerbefore heading back to uni. Read more

This is a great place to sit on the deck overlooking the beach while enjoying fish and chips or a burger with beer. The food... quality is fine and prices are not outrageous. Staff are pleasant but service is minimal, as you might expect in such a place. Come here for the view and the sea air. The food is not particularly memorable but the location is hard to beat. Recommended. Read more

I?m hooked on their poutine! Crispy fries, tasty gravy and cheese curds. $12 sounded like a lot, but it was worth it! Have... dined in before and had the fish tacos and some drinks. Very quaint little place. Fits in with the Crescent Beach vibe. Read more

The place is close to the Cresent beach and you get a good view of beach from the patio seating available. I went on weekend,... ordered ceasers this was really spiced and good to taste no complaints on weekend specials. But their main dish cod and chipswas a bit disappointing, I don't say overall it was bad but the cod fish was not very well cooked from inside. The fries theygive is also very very less in qty. They take a while to serve your food and it was assumed that its the cooking time that woulddelay and we wait to ensure that the food ordered comes with fine cooked but it was not the case. Sauce was good while fish wasaverage. Nice thing that attracted me was the board pit in the restaurant for annoying customers, it was a good sign to ensureother customers who come for a peaceful time is not disturbed. Overall I rated this average mainly for the fish, except that theplace is very well placed to the beach and always busy. Read more

A great beachfront restaurant and one of the few available on Crescent Beach. The fish and chips are very good. The batter is... crispy and light and the chips taste like potatoes. The server and food runner were awesome. Decor gives a Beachy feel and thesea views are wonderful Read more
