Reviews for Aggarwal Sweets in Surrey, BC
Plenty of of options but Average food and overhyped place. Will surely give another try. My first experience was lower than... average. I had tried other restaurants already, this restaurant lacks taste and quality. Never mind, owners should visit nearbyrestaurants and try the same dishes to understand what needs to be improved. 3 Stars for amazing menu and options. -2 Stars forTaste and Quality. Read more
Ok place, we had : 1. samosa chaat which was reasonable but on sweeter side 2. Dhokla: won’t recommend, it felt stale and... didn’t taste good 3. Aaloo tikki was eh.. ok won’t complain or complement 4. Kachori aaloo was more like poori aaloo. 5.Chai (or as our server calls it tai tea+chai) was reasonable. Read more
I had dining here many times. This is one of the very few pure vegetarian restaurants around. Food is above average, not very... great all the time. We still like it. Services are fast, seems like they got all the students. Most of the time staff is nice &polite. Because of lots of people, rush hours over the weekend floors are dirty, but still not that bad. The best part is openall after noon. Hungry at 3:00, 4:00, when many restaurants are closed, good option for dine in. Onsite free parking. Separatedining area for a group of 10+ people. Read more
This is a staple in Surrey and has been around for long time. I am not from Surrey and whenever I have visited Surrey, Aggarwal... and Sweets is the place to go for breakfast/brunch and it's famous Chole Bhatura. However this time went with my family.Located inside if Pyal Business Center, parking is usually hard to find and folks give you a feeling of mini punjab where rulesand courtesy are thrown out window soon as you enter the center. And it's free for all. The resturant is generally busy. Staffprovide you with menus and take your order. Our staff personal was amazing. We ordered Milk Badam for $5 and it tasted great weended up ordering two more. One order of Chole Bhatura which remind you of eating back home in punjab. Taste was nice. Here isthe part which I think I learned a lesson. I ordered Dosa at North Indian Restaurant known for its Chole Bhatura. I ended upgetting an dosa with thick yellow dal. See pictures. I will be back, but not for the dosa. Read more
One of the servers yesterday who wore a red shirt, unlike the others who were a blue shirt was super sweet. She told us what she... recommends us to eat and told us if we ordered too much in a nice way, which was helpful. You can tell she wasn’t fake asother servers and was super real (didn’t catch her name, but made my experience amazing) Super sweet and yummy! Exceeds myexpectations that I had about this place. I will definitely visit this place again. It gets busy in here whenever I come, whichmakes you spend more time in line than you expect sometimes. The cashier asked me for a bag, but I didn’t realize it was waymore expensive than other places, and I felt like the cashier should have made me aware of the cost of the bag when she asked meif I wanted one. This place is the best.. I am from Alberta and I haven't seen menu like this here in Alberta.. The place was clean and food was... awesome, freshly prepared.. I noticed that service was pretty fast but they can improve little bit in matter of conversationwith customers... All fine, visited 2 days and totally happy with their food.. I will visit again when coming to BC in future.. Read more
Food was so-so. On earlier occasions, the food was awesome. Consistency is their core issue. Kachoris are good. Mithai’s are... slightly sweeter than needed. Read more
Breakdown of Aggarwal Sweets - 4/5 OVERALL 5/5 Gravies / sabji / paneer dishes ( mains ) 4/5 breads / roti / naan etc. Fresh if... you ask for it, soft, good taste, not too thick. 3/5 drinks and sweets - overpriced and too sweet but okay 2/5 chai --- bad, nomasala, weak, disappointing! Please work on it, also it seemed weirdly oily? Chai should stand on its own with NO sugar, if itneeds sugar to be drinkable than IMO it is bad chai. There should be a masala mix of elaichi, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, anise, allspice mix etc. 4/5 washrooms. Clean and presentable+ pretty! but toilet paper was missing lol, probably not everydayoccurrence tho. 4/5 premises. Comfortable and clean but the booths near the kitchen can hear everything. the paint job seemsunfinished in places. Carpet clashes. Dollar store jugs and glasses. The ceiling and most walls are very well done, but thereare definitely places that need work. Point is, that it's not very pretty in places lol, but it's not a big deal as long as it'sclean for casual meals, personally I wouldn't have important meals or client meetings here, unless I booked the privateroom. 5/5 service. I've always gotten good service here, fairly quick for food. I have eaten here multiple times, and they arestaple in Surrey for a good reason. Overall a tried and true Indian restaurant. Not trendy, and the premises are simple andfunctional but the food is overall good, which at the end of the day is what matters! I do think that the level of quality theyhave makes the prices a little high, but for the most part it delivers. Read more
