Seems this location changed ownership. For some reason a lot of locals are unhappy with that change. I, however, am happy! I... ate here a couple of times over the years but honestly, if I was craving a gyro I?d go way out of town to get one. Because thisis an area that surprise is lacking in. No place in surprise has very good Mediterranean/ Greek food. That?s all changed now! After hearing the complaints of other I decided to give it a try. Why not. I was craving a gyro and didn?t have a whole lot oftime. So glad I didn?t listen to the nay-sayers who are afraid of change just because it?s change. My gyro was fantastic! Just like the old days way before I ever landed in surprise. Perfectly cooked Kronos on the spit, great pita. And the bestpart? Their Tzatziki!! It was really, really good. Most places here it?s all dill and/ or lemon. This place uses the rightcombination so that it tastes just like it?s supposed to. A little less lettuce would make it better but otherwise? Fantastic!! I love their food, but the gentlemen who seems to be in his 40's that works behind the counter isn't very polite on the phone... or in person. When I call, I never ask questions or make my order difficult. I just order straight off the menu with nosubstitutions. But this gentlemen acts like I'm inconveniencing him. I don't know what is going on in his personal life and Ialways like to give the benefit of the doubt. But he just isn't friendly. I've worked in retail for 13 years and customerservice for 27 years and I never acted that way to my customers. Some mom and pop shops struggle to compete with chainrestaurants, but great food and great customer service should set you apart and makes you want to come back. I really like thefood but dread my encounter with him because of how unfriendly he is. I hope things change there. Read more
