Ono is not a bad place to eat, not going to lie. The short ribs and katsu chicken is delish however the service is not so great... especially going through the drive thru. I waited patiently at the drive thru thinking they might be busy until I was rudelygreeted by being told ?if you look at the paper, it says to say aloha when you?re ready to order? a little taken back myresponse was, ?I apologize, I didn?t know that because there is no paper. Maybe the wind blew it off? they said ?oh, what can Iget you?? Order two appetizers and a drink. Went to the window, and waited there for someone to come to the for almost 10 minand no one even came to bring the drink or let us know it might take a while. Although the food was good and fairly plentiful it was not hot, and they added broccoli (usually get just cabbage and love it)... that was barely if at all cooked. Hard as a rock. Two tables eating when we go there one lady in line ordering. No one at thedrive thru (we sat in line there for five minutes without acknowledgement ) so we went inside. Still took 20 minutes to take myorder and get my luke warm food. Girl at register was unfriendly and almost mopey. Tiarra I think her name was. No smile orfriendly greeting. I will say the restaurant was very clean, although the walk in door remained open six or so inches the entiretime I was there. The Ono's in Gilbert does a much better job! Something has changed with ownership because the customer service has been awful and the food isn?t the same. Also, The cashier... needs needs training in people skills. If you can?t be kind, be courteous and smile when you are working a drive through, youneed to consider a different career. So sad but I won?t spend another dime there. Read more
My daughter told me about this place so many times and I always wanted to go. We finally went today and I ordered the teriyaki... chicken, the barbecue beef and the kalbi beef. They have these fruity drinks in a can if you would like to check those out. Webought the guava and I think I got the orange flavor or something I can't remember the name of it but it was great! Your foodcomes with rice and potato salad and don't forget to ask for your sauces!! They have a drive through so we took our food andmade a visit to the park. But they also have dine-in if you would like to eat inside. Read more
I was sooo looking forward to Island Fire chicken. Just wanted to throw a shoutout to these a$$hat$ for INSISTING that I come... into the store to order my dinner, because the item I ordered in the drive through takes ten minutes to prepare... even afterletting them know that it?s physically painful for me to stand.... to make matters worse, there?s nowhere to sit once inside???????????????? A little late with posting my review. However, we came here a few weeks after they opened. Now I don't have to travel to... Avondale for my Hawaiian fix. Same food, but they took my Hub's fave off their menu, which was the 'Island Curry Chicken.' Imiss their 'Loco Moco!' ...Anyway, this location is more spacious. The food was great. My hubby did take back my salad toexchange for another; since it barely had a few slices of chicken, as opposed to the price he paid for it, plus they forgot toput the dressing in it. Good Hawaiian kine food but, mostly the local kine food, NOT real "Hawaiian" kine. No Lau Lau, poke, Manapua, etc.,... etc. There's other restaurants in Arizona that have them. FYI: That tray WAS full of BBQ mix plate, until I got ahold of it. Read more
