Reviews for Sankranti in Sunnyvale, CA
I went for lunch during a weekday (Thursday) and ordered Golconda chicken biryani and guntur special chicken biryani. Both of... them are very oily. The oil is literally sliding in biryani. The rice is completely oily and it feels like eating biryani withoil. In addition to that it was 100F outside and they did not switch on AC, they have only one fan which was used for othertable. We were sweating like anything and it was way better outside than inside the restaurant. Over all had Worst experience. It looks like they are only concentrating on weekends. I have visited same place before covid and had great experience. Read more
Sankranthi is always busy during weekends. Once we went during weekdays, it was not crowded. But we didn't like the quality of... the food. Buffet price has gone up. We paid $100 for four people. There is always waiting time during weekends. Goat biryani wasnot really a biryani. They added fried goat to cooked basmati rice. Chicken biryani was good. Andhra chicken curry was tastewise good, but it was smelling like uncooked chicken. Punugulu were awesome. Naans too. We all like their tea. Methi chicken wasalso good. Goat curry and chicken curries contained more gravy than pieces. We had four dessert options (double ka meetha, coconut burfi, gulabi jamun, and kesar). They didn't have mango lassi, which we missed immensely. Pulihora was also awesome. Read more
I ordered gongura paneer biryani, 7 paneer cubes, it was sour, no spices added in it. Lot of quantity of white rice. It was... waste of money. It tasted like gongura and paneer added in a rice. $17.99 for biryani $1.7 sales tax and 15% tip, total $21dollars just for plain rice and some paneer cubes???????????? Read more
Tasty goat biryani. Gongura flavor was very new to me, and I enjoyed it very much. Also, extra spicy is really spicy!!
I liked the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala here. I haven't tried the other curries but they'd probably be good too.... Also had the punukulu, mysoor bonda, and chicken 65 for appetizers. The first two were both good, fresh and hot, but I wasexpecting the chicken 65 to be fried. Garlic and butter naan were both good, but on the crispier side. Read more
Was recommended by a friend of mine. Did not disappoint. The food is incredibly flavorful. This is possibly the best Indian... food that I've had in the Bay Area. My wife and son found it way too spicy but I absolutely loved it. The Konaseema chicken fry- so crunchy and amazing. And we also had chicken curry, goat curry, and chicken biryani. Naan was light and super tasty. I lovethis place and will be coming back for sure. Read more
[5/5, Sunnyvale, CA] Amazing taste - can?t complain about it at all. The garlic naan had just enough garlic, was hot and crispy.... Butter chicken was perfect. The Andhra chicken was spicy so only order it if you can take spice. The mango lassi was thick andfull of mango flavor - we even ordered an extra one for take out. Food is a solid 5/5 though the presentation can be better -they might be serving using disposables now since it?s COVID. A must visit in Sunnyvale for Indian cuisine. Read more
Came here on a weekday evening and had an enjoyable experience trying their paneer veg biryani + raita, garlic naan, along with... the complimentary chai. Wasn't busy at all and got seated quickly after placing my order at the front. The order came out prettyquickly but it was fresh and delicious. Ample paneer and flavors in the biryani, not too spicy (I went for mild), although theraita given isn't a ton for the biryani. The garlic naan was phenomenal, crispy, and huge - I had to take the other half home.Lastly, the complimentary chai was sweet and a nice touch to finish the meal. I've also gotten their Gobi Manchurian here to gowhich was great. Will definitely come again. Read more
