I came in to get some tacos and was completely ignored for 10 minutes. Nobody was in line, the employee went back and forth,... even talked with a manager without so much as a "I'll be with you in a minute" I guess I didn't have the right skin tone. Acouple weeks later I asked for a pound of carnitas and when I go to pay it's about a pound and a half, apparently math is not astrong subject for these people. I like chaves market good quality ingredients tasty hot food I've only been to the location in redwood City never to the one in... Sunnyvale but pretty much the same thing extremely small parking lot supermarket full of good stuff they were six cashier linesand only one was open 2:30 in the afternoon on a very busy Street I got a burrito in the back and I wanted to purchase my drinkthere too but I wasn't allowed to that doesn't make any sense but trying to divert the flow of people at the taqueria coming tothe front of the store but there's no point when there's that many cashier open and nobody's there to do it I left my drinkbecause the line had more than 20 people and by the time I pay for my drink my burrito would be freezing cold that's why I gaveit a two star I thought that was pretty ridiculous I did see it for higher sign it said starting at $22 an hour which is not badfor a supermarket I used to work for whole foods and they start you at 17 what a difference anyways I just want to write thisreview because I couldn't believe how long the lines were and there are so many employees in the back but nobody could jump on acashier talk about no team effort thanks for taking the time to read my review ???? I love the produce at Chavez. If you can't find a ripe avocado anywhere else, you'll find one there. BEST BURRITO BAR IN TOWN.... Different stuff than you'd find at Safeway but that's why you go there. It's like being in a grocery store in Mexico. All theclerks are bilingual. Chavez is fun. Read more
Always packed inside esp on weekends. They have a kitchen in the back for take out, smells great all the time. So far have only... ordered the menudo (only available on weekends).....Definitely worth it and don't get there after 12p for it b'cuz there won'tbe any left. They sell out so fast or they dont make enuf, not sure which. They have a good selection of meat & chicken andsome fish, but we don't buy our seafood there. They also have some cold cuts and we get headcheese there every year, so fewplaces sell it anymore. Nice neighborhood grocery store friendly staff, tight parking, great little takeout kitchen; keep itgoing! Read more
Went there for tacos, and nothing else. Cute little store, and atmosphere. In regards to their tacos, I didn't really find the... tacos interesting. Tacos were bland, and lacked flavor, the corn tortilla was also served cold which already gave me a badimpression from the beginning. Read more
It's small and is Hispanic. If you're looking for Dennison chili beans in a can, good luck. It's a wonderful Mexican food store.... Don't run in looking for frozen hamburgers. They have a meat counter with all kinds of meat and a long line. Wonderful customerservice. Good people!! Read more
Wow... I mean fuken wow. We are from Los Angeles Ca... and wow! Chavez Supermarket really impressed us. It is a bit pricey but... worth every penny. I did not take pictures inside. But everything we cooked was bought here on our 1 week Airbnb stay walkingdistance. Enjoy! Read more
Ridiculously expensive this is what they just charge me for a small iceberg lettuce. Will never buy from here again. Check... prices before you put anything on you car or May be surprise when you get home. Read more
