Came here with a friend. Got the plate with 3 meats (brisket, ribs, sausage) and got some cornbread and tots as sides. 2... lagunitas to drink with our meal. It was delicious! I used to go to armadillo Willy's all the time years ago in Cupertino. Sosad that location closed, it was such convenient delicious barbecue. This was my first time at the El Camino location, and ittasted exactly like I remembered. Got a small dipping cup of jalapeno, mild, and original sauce Read more
Firstly you walk In and can smell the awesome smelling smoke. I had the ribs and pulled pork with garlic parmesan fries. The... Ribs where awesome, the pulled pork was ok. The garlic parmesan fries were the best I have ever had .....BAR NONE. Didn'tthink I would have the best garlic fries in Santa Clara California. If you like garlic you will love these. Overall a nicedecent place with great food Read more
It's okay. I grew up in Texas so I'm a bit pickier about BBQ. I've tried several other BBQ places in the south Bay and this one... is probably one of your better options. I went for a small brisket plate. It's a bit pricey, but all BBQ in the Bay is pricey,so it's nothing unusual. The brisket came in a sort of shredded pile instead of slices, along with my side of onion rings and acup of sauce, all on a kind of strange, too-"fancy" plate. The plate's kinda large so it made the portion size feel ... kindasmall. Yeah, I'm being nit-picky, but it did feel pretty weird. (Just serve it on paper in a red plastic basket, what is thisblack rectangular plate thing?) That being said, the meat itself was actually decent, and the sauce was quite tasty. The onionrings were good as well. I think the biggest thing I wished this place had were fixin's: self-service things like pico degallo, onions, and pickles. There was none of that, and the small plate also didn't come with anything else I didn't alreadymention (I felt like I was missing a piece of bread or something). The vibe of the place itself was more or less correct("picnic" tablecloths, etc) and it was pretty spacious and clean. Overall I'd probably give this place closer to 3 stars, butgiven it's one of the few BBQ places in the Bay that hasn't outright made me feel disappointed I think it's good enough to merit4. Read more

This place was good for BBQ in Northern California but I wouldn?t go as far to say ?real Texas BBQ.? We went about a hour and a... half before closing and no items were out which leads me to believe it is not made fresh daily as traditional Texas BBQ placesdo. They do not have freshly brewed sweet or unsweetened iced tea. The sauces were excellent. The mild and jalapeño wereavailable tonight and a mixture of the two was a spicy tangy flavor. The potato salad was very good. Medium sized chunks with amild mayo/mustard sauce with the crunch from pickles and celery. The tortilla soup was good, but kinda basic. It came out veryhot which was nice. Didn?t eat it until we dived into the meats and it was still a good temperature. Served with a large sliceof avocado on top. Maybe better if that was sliced thinner so it was easier cut into smaller chunks to mix in the soup. Thecornbread was mediocre and the butter with it came out almost frozen and unspreadable. The Texas BBQ ribs were very good ontheir own with the rub and with a little sauce on them. They were very large bones too! Jalapeño cheddar sausage wasexcellent. True flavors of cheddar and spice of jalapeño! Brisket was okay+. We opted for the half/half fatty and not. Itdidn?t come out in slices as I anticipated. Just a pile similar to pulled port but you could tell it was brisket by theburnt/crunchy parts and darker meat. Service was sufficient. It was mildly busy. The women taking our order was more concernedwith phone orders than customers there in person. Taking them right away while we waited in person. Our food came out prettyquick which was nice. Wow if your in Santa Clara and don't stop here at least once your sure missing out. They do some of the best BBQ in Northern... California. It's been about three years between my two visits and not much has changed in that time and it's just as good as myfirst visit. The burnt ends and brisket where super tasty, the ribs could have been in for a little longer as they where alittle too under for me but they still tasted great. If you want real good BBQ you need to try this place. Read more
Armadillo Willy's reminded us of a popular bbq restaurant we enjoyed when living in Texas. The sides were delicious and the meat... smoked really well. The combo family meal was big and left my family of four with left overs. Read more
