Nice Mexican / BBQ / drinks spot in downtown Summit. Good vibe and fun decor. Friendly service. Food was OK - tacos aren't going... to knock your socks off if you're a street taco fanatic and the menu is overpriced, but good enough for the burbs. Read more

Was there with the family. Loved their steak tacos and the pulled pork tacos and bowel. Nice diner style. Is perfect in the... summer when they can pull the windows all the way up and have seating outside. This is our new favorite taco place! Read more

Best frozen margarita in Summit. Full Stop. Wanted to add that the food is very tasty here as well. Particularly the... guacamole which is very fresh. Taco platters are a specialty, particularly the shrimp or chicken selections. Most meats areflavored with a unique, and tasty BBQ sauce that is unique to Bar Bacoa. (If you want plain mexican food, you are better offwith Titos down the street.) The dining room is modern and cheerful, very much family friendly. Sitting outside when theweather is nice is a great alternative option. The bar is small but always packed due to the excellent, previously mentionedMargaritas. I like this place so much, my family rolls their eyes when I say this is my choice (again) when we go out to dinnerin Summit. Read more

I work across the street from Bar Bacoa and have ordered several times from here. For someone who knows the best Mexican places... in and around the NYC area, I find this place mediocre at best. They overcharge a ridiculous amount for a less than averageamount of food. The tacos each time were not even filled and they do not double up the tortillas. I ordered Chicken Tinga tacosand a side of rice and it came to over $25. I could go get a sit down meal at Roots for a couple dollars more. I would makethis place a daily lunch choice for me if it was actually reasonably priced and portioned. Read more

The food is below average and very expensive for what you get. Pico de Gallo and guacamole tastes processed? Like the packets... you get from Costco. The best way I can describe it. I'm pretty sure the rice is "ready-to-go" pre made rice as well. Shrimpand chicken aren't very seasoned. Confused by the high priase in other reviews here. Menu items are priced way too high for thequality you get and that's without factoring in drinks. You're really just paying for the atmosphere. The place looks nice andthat's about it. Read more

Second time I?ve had lunch here in Summit at Bar Bacoa. It?s a nice spot for quick food. The tacos are not as authentic and... the guacamole tasted like it was processed. I would recommend checking the place out and see for yourself, maybe I just orderedthe wrong item the menu. I do have give some credit though, first place in a very long time that serves Mexican Coca Cola. Read more

Really enjoyed our first visit to Bar Bacoa and were happy to find that we were able to dine with our pup at one of their... outdoor tables. I was very pleased with the frozen margarita - heavy lime flavor with quality tequila. Chips and guacamole weregood and portion was generous. We felt like the salsa was missing a little something, maybe a bit of spice or heavier limejuice? Not quite sure what it was but we felt it needed something more. Camarones tacos were delicious with juicy shrimp andpineapple jalapeño salsa. We?d definitely order these again. Looking forward to visiting again to try more of the menu. Read more

Great food! Each taco has a great Smokey flavor, and the chips & guacamole are delicious!! I wasn?t too crazy about their salsa... though. Food is at a higher price point but you can tell the quality is there. Ceviche was great too, and I can taste thefreshness without the taste of sugar added since most places do add some type of sugar. Overall I would recommend this place andI can?t wait to try the drinks very soon!! Read more
