Popped in for a first try at Uncle Mike's on Water Street. Service was some of the best I've experienced in quite a while. Had... the Summerside Fries (fries with the works) ($12). It was a small portion at a full portion price. Unfortunately served in abowl so what came out of the kitchen as crispy, perfectly cooked fries were transformed quickly into soggy mush. Ordered thehalf rack of ribs ($17). Next to "dry as a bone" in the dictionary, there should be a pic of these ribs. Definitely not cookedthat day. Maybe not even the day before. Bones were suspiciously white and chalky as if they languished too long under the heatlamp or (gasp) in the microwave. The garlic buttered "Texas toast" was a plain ol' slice of white sandwich bread saturated,truly, with oil. Sweet potato fries were great, as was the accompanying horseradish dipping sauce. Lots of TV screens up with different sporting events on. Nice little bar and grill. The province has a local beef "Hamburger"... event going on with 85 different restaurants with signature hamburgers on for the month. I had the one from here and wasimpressed! Read more
This was by far the best food I've had on the island in awhile. The service was extremely quick and the food was absolutely... delicious. Even the customers sitting beside us were friendly as heck and told us all about the upcoming events going on atUncle Mike's. Our server was funny and charismatic!!! Definitely will come back!
