I was in Summerland today to explore the shops and happened on the Second Home Cafe and Grill while driving around. What a gem.... The entrance is inviting and the staff friendly . Breakfast seems to be their speciality but I decided to try the mushroomSwiss burger. Well I have to say, it was the best burger I?ve had in awhile. The patty was big and juicy and done toperfection. Made the unfortunate choice of Sunday brunch. Most of the food had been overcooked in the deep fryer and the eggs were... tasteless. I wound up getting my own coffee. The staff are friendly if terribly disorganized. If you do eat here, order a lacarte. Read more

Lovely little old school diner with a nice breakfast spread. Pictured here are the Breakfast wrap and the The Bowl, minus... chorizo. Our server, who immediately recognized us as fellow vegetarians, gave thoughtful suggestions to make minormodifications. Our breakfast was awesome because of it. Sorry we didn't catch your name! The breakfast here is amazing. I stopped here with my cycling group for a quick brunch and we were all blown away. The Second... Home Restaurant is a casual, small town place where you can go to expect some delicious comfort food at a reasonable price. I'ma big fan of waffles and these ones are delicious. They're not the fanciest, but they taste home made and delicious. And for$9, I was impressed with the amount I received. The French toast that others in my group looked delicious too and is somethingto consider as well. The restaurant is located in the upper part of Summerland just off of the highway. It's a great littlespot to stop at for a home cooked breakfast and I know I'll be back. The patio outside would be nice when the weather is a bitbetter. Read more
Breakfast buffet stocked regularly so it seems to be fresh and hot, nothing that special pretty generic
