What a great little place tucked away at Sullivan's Island! Very cool, rustic (yet new) vibe. A very small menu, but the stuff... we had was fantastic. Our server was excellent and made some wonderful recommendations. We started out with a dozen oysters.$40, but they were large, delicious and shucked perfectly. The cheese board was good. Very unique cheese from a small farm. TheLocal Lettuce salad was big enough to share with 4 people, but there were just two of us. For dinner, he had the Rutledge pizza. No tomato sauce, all cheese, and very good! I had the Ricotta Gnocchi as suggested by our server. She said it was the mostpopular thing on the menu and I can see why. The short rib ragu was probably the best I've ever had. We were too full for anydessert but some of the things on the menu looked really delicious. Make a reservation as soon as you can. It can be tough toget a seat. Read more

The Obstinate Daughter is one of my favorite meals - not just in Charleston, but anywhere. The food, the atmosphere and the... service are always incredible. For this meal we started with a selection of oysters on the half shell, Local Lettuce withcroutons, Parmesan, egg with buttermilk vinaigrette and the Farro Piccolo. The piccolo is outstanding. It’s brussels sproutswith peanuts, balsamic and black truffle. For our mains we ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi and Campanelle. Both were perfectlyexecuted and deep with flavor and texture. To finish we ended the perfect meal with their Crème Brûlée. This variation was aPecan Bourbon Crème Brûlée - all of my favorite things rolled into one. It was decadent, and the perfect end to the meal. Wehave driven for hours across multiple state lines for their food, and we will do it again. Read more

As good as the other reviews promised. Beautiful beautiful place! The food was devine! The special gorgonzola and peaches pizza... was out of this world. And the British guy who served our table, I don't recall the name, made the whole experience even better. Our whole family enjoyed talking to him. We also ordered mixed drinks, which were delicious and not overly sweet. Read more

I loved the food here so much! I think it will be one of my new spots! My only complaint is that a Diet Coke was $5 that’s... just highway robbery! Everything else was priced right and tasted amazing. The presentation was awesome and it was quick! Read more

It was our first visit to The Obstinate Daughter but it certainly won't be our last. From the cheese board with the homemade jam... to the pizzas and the Grouper catch of the day, everything was amazing! Loved the addition of sea beans to the beet salad, too.Really delicious! Read more

Visiting Sullivans Island for a trail walk and found this place. There is limited parking in front and the entrance is upstairs.... There was a wait but not too long. When seated we were at a really small high top. We could not fit all our food. The server wasnice but not helpful with suggestions. The She Crab Soup and Pizza were good. The Fritas were over rated and a little greasy. The Cheese plate wasn't really a Cheese plate at all. 1 type of cheese with jam and crackers, but it was good. Read more
