This is one of those hidden gem places that is so unique in their look, quality of food, atmosphere and service that you have to... go see for yourself. Lindsey was our bartender and made me a perfect margarita which was very good. My wife got one of the draftbeers and there are several offered. The place is heavily decorated with an Edgar Allen Poe theme as you can see from a few ofthe pics and they offer shirts for sale with their logo for $25. I ordered the mahi tacos with a side of onion straws and mywife got the grilled chicken salad which was huge. We were very lucky as parking was very difficult at this place but they havetwo parking lots to the left of the restaurant and as we past the first and pulled into the second we caught a lucky break as acar was just backing out. I would recommend going on Monday-Wednsday as I am sure the weekends would be almost impossible to geta parking space. The place is kind of noisy too with all the conversations going on and music playing so it might be difficultto carry on a conversation during busy times. Also, the restrooms were not very clean and this needs to be addressed but overallwe are glad we came here and it is an experience we will always remember. A very interesting little place. The Poe theme is perfect for the area. The availability of burger, chicken or veggie option... was great. I had the "Rue Morgue" it was such a great comfort food option! Well anything served on a bed of fries is hard tobeat. We went on a Saturday evening and it was busy but only a 30 wait for a table. The atmosphere was super amazing the food was good but the burger?i just have no idea how logistically it was supposed to fit in... my mouth or anyones mouth like i tried so hard it was very difficult so maybe find a way to work that out so people of all mouthsizes can enjoy the full essence of the burgers intended flavor. also i got catcalled but drunk guys yelling across therestaurant but the servers were great and super accommodating and i would definitely go again and recommend to all of you Read more

We came to Sullivan?s Island on a whim and I?m so glad we did! We liked the wider variety of a menu Poe?s had to offer so we... chose to go here for lunch over Obstinate Daughter. We got the Black Cat and Gold Bug burgers with veggie patties with hand-cutfries. The flavor of everything was phenomenal. We decided to try Poe?s Tavern based on a friend?s recommendation. We grabbed a late lunch and so glad we did. We had the... Edgar?s Nachos and a couple of burgers. Overall: Great vibes but more importantly great burgers! The good: They have a nice selection of burgers, and the Black Cat was... juicy and cooked the way I wanted. There wasn't so much chili or cheese that it was a mess to eat (which was a plus), and thebacon was flavorful and crisp. Topped off with grilled onions and then a side of crispy, thin fries, and it was an overall greatmeal. The size of the burger was perfect too - I didn't leave feeling disgusting. The atmosphere is humble and cozy with lowlighting, a fireplace, and Poe within eyeshot no matter where you are. The not-so-good: The prices are a little steep, but thatseems to be the norm now with inflation the way it is. Took awhile to get our beers, and the men's bathroom smelled prettyterrible.
