First time back since april.. April.. place smells like feral cats. It wasn't very crowded... who could stay there? It was... sickening... when we were there in April, bartender said that the tenants upstairs fed the cats... we recommended that they fixthe horrific smell. So as of 12/22 its stll Not better.. it's worse. Too bad, it's a great location, food use to be good...but you leave smelling as bad as the place. You would think that the owner who is the mayor would have higher standards. Inlight of the recent response from CC... this was not an attack on anyone .... but the overall condition and odor of theestablishment. My thoughts on the mayor was simply that while suffern is thriving.. one would have thought that he would wantthe place to be top notch... Read more

This was once an old railroad hotel, before the turnpike and the reliable automobile. It has gone through various... manifestations over the past twenty years and I am happy to report it is back in good standing as a good solid eatery! Thefood is fresh and well portioned, fish and chips and local beers. But, they would do well to consider limiting the TV to sportsevents or moon landings, instead of constant noise and misinformation. Read more

Came here to see the NHL playoffs and what a game! Definitely fell out of place being a lightning fan in a Rangers area. I still... felt completely welcomed by the staff and I was served well. The food was really good I got some appetizers and a drink andeverything was definitely worth it. Close to my house so not a bad drive home! Read more

Today was a beautiful day. I live in North Jersey and I grabbed my camera and started driving. I wasn't sure where I was going... to stop for lunch but I ended up passing this place and then made a U-turn and ended up going back to try it. I have alwayswondered how it was. Although it looks deserted in my photos, there were many people sitting outside enjoying the weather. Ichose to sit inside ? at the end of the bar near the window. The bartender was taking care of the folks inside and also tendingto the people outside and he did a great job. I ordered the French Onion Soup and a Steak Sandwich with Fries. Everything wasdelicious. The French Onion Soup was GREAT... and I'm pretty picky about my French Onion Soup. The cheese AND the soup itselfwas delicious. Now, the steak sandwich was NOT a cheesesteak but slices of steak on a roll with cheese on the roll itself. Itwas very good. I really wasn't sure what to expect but I enjoyed it. Just don't order it, expecting a traditional"cheesesteak". The fries were great and I also ate the coleslaw and the pickle. Man, I was STUFFED. The bartender said therewas parking on the right side of the restaurant but I parked towards the left, which is probably really for the businesses nextto the restaurant. Regardless, it was no problem. I would definitely go back and try something different. It was very good. Read more

Great food, inexpensive, good portions of food, friendly atmosphere, the help is very friendly .only complaint I had... ordered empanadas which I loved but they were pricey 2 for 8.95. I think you should get at least 4 for that price .Iused to go to a place in town that recently closed and got 1 for only a 1.00. They were the same size as the ones atCurlys.Update Went to here April 3rd for a Belated Birthday .Sorry I miss the owner the owner Mike great guy. Read more

Our family decided to try it out for Christmas Eve. There?s a wide variety of appetizers, traditional Irish cuisine, sea food,... sandwiches, steaks and even Italian food. Prices are terrific in this day and age, especially with the portion size. The servicewas excellent. Our server Kevin was very attentive to our needs and you can tell he seemed like a great kid overall. He was veryefficient in satisfying our needs in terms of drinks, napkins and condiments. The food also came pretty quickly after it wasordered. There was also another lady with short hair that seemed like a manager that was helping him when another few tablesshowed up to make sure everything was taken care of when he was busy doing something else. It?s great to see that they wereworking together to make sure everyone was properly taken care of. They found the perfect balance in being quick while notrushing people out the door to flip tables like some restaurants do. Didn?t spend too much paying attention to the bar, but whenI went to the bathroom the people seemed welcoming and the bartender was friendly Read more

I?d like to say that iSuffern landmark is a hidden gem butIt really is the same thing it always has been which is a retreat for... elderly drunks and marginal food at best.. they?ve made the place look nicer and they giving it an extensive and impressive menuand really made it a comfortable place to hang out so it?s got a lot of things going for it. It used to have a charming appealwhich was your classic Irish dive bar complete with Irish bartender off the boat. I swear to you this time it look like littleItaly exploded and every loudmouth drugs Italian guy had to compete with each other to see who could drown out all semblance ofthought by the volume of them telling tales of days gone bye. I don?t think I?ve ever been in bar where the volume was so loudthat I literally had to leave. Keep in mind that this is the volume of multiple people yelling at multiple tables just so thatthey can scream louder then the people at the other tables. Owner is a great guy tried to make things right but the service andgeneral meh of the food was meh?.. While it seemed that they had plenty of it took me three requests to get some gravy and afork.
