This is the first time we have stopped at docs on our way to Two Harbors. I prefer a nice place you can sit down and order and... possibly have a beer or be waited on with good food. I am glad we stopped at Docs it has all of the above plus polite and fastservice. I am an Iowaboy that always has to try a Pork Tenderloin were ever I see it on the menu. I was impressed it was a verygood sandwich, not your typical flattened out and breaded but slightly ticker and breaded, it was good. My gal had a wrap andshe loved it. Went for the ultimate Bloody Mary kind of expecting it to be a joke. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was all delicious!... Even the plastic wrapped sandwich was delicious! Staff were attentive and very friendly. So glad we explored and found this gem. Read more

Great service. We aren't locals here, but the staff treated us as well as a regular. We went on a Thursday evening. Thursdays... it turns out was the owners BBQ! Little did we know he was a cook-off winner all over the place! We each ordered a half rack ofribs. When the waitress brought out the plates, we asked her if she had given us each a full rack? She says nope that's just ahalf. The thing took up a whole platter! I just need to say great chow, atmosphere, and staff! Read more

My wife and I traveled to Sturgeon Lake, MN to meet friends for lunch at Doc's Bar and Grill. Apparently they are famous for... their bloodyMary's, which our friends enthusiastically endorsed. I have to take their word for it since neither my wife nor Iare drinkers. I ordered the "Herman the German" sandwich (best description is a Philly sandwich with saurkraut and pepper jackcheese) and my wife ordered the fish tacos. Both were quite good but not exceptional. The Herman the German was flavorful withtender and moist roast beef and who (besides my wife) doesn't love sautéed onions and green peppers? The saurkraut added afresh acid bite to a heavy, savory sandwich. The fish tacos were average and I found the slaw a bit on the sweet side. One ofour friends ordered the pepper burger and it looked really good. The sausage and ground chuck patty was much bigger than the bunand it was described as delicious. I will order that the next time I stop there on a trip to or from Duluth. Read more

Went there for my birthday with a bunch of friends. They were very accommodating to our large group. Everyone?s food was... delicious. I had the deep fried burger. It was fantastic!! Definitely a great place to check out. Bloody Mary?s are very good. Iwill definitely be back. Read more
