Okay, Dave Portnoy, Mr. One-Bite, liked it, so I drove out of my way to try it. It's New Haven-style, which means a thin crust.... The owner worked in New Haven, and knows how it's done. I got a sausage pizza. Quite good. My favorite things were the crunchyedge of the crust, and overall flavor. One thing I would like changed: the sausage consisted of very thin round slices that, tome, lacked flavor. I prefer the fresh-ground , chunky- style sausage, ideally with fennel seeds. A wonderful Italian restaurant! I felt welcomed and the service was very friendly. We ordered the meatballs, garlic bread with... cheese, a clam pizza and the pasta carbanarra. Loved all of those dishes, tho the carbanarra had a peppery kick (too much for myliking). The table next to us ordered an alla vodka pizza, and it looked incredible! We will be back to try that one. My husband and have been waiting to try Fantini's but, every time we tried calling the lines were busy and there was a line... outside. On Saturday May 7th we enjoyed a movie and decided to give Fantini's a call to see if we could get in (this was around8PM) we spoke with Jimmy the owner and he said come on in and we will get you seated. We arrived and were greeted by Jimmy andhis mother sat us at our table, Jennifer was the waitress, the restaurant was beautiful, atmosphere was great and the food wasdelicious! We did get to enjoy the company of the couple who sat next to us, there was a mix up on our pizzas but, theexperience was great none the less and we will be back again! Thank You :) Read more

What a gem! Authentic ?up North? pizza! I?m an Italian Jersey girl, from a restaurant/pizzeria owning family, so I know a thing... or two about good pizza. Thin, crispy, not too saucy, not too cheesy?all QUALITY ingredients. So flavorful and cooked perfectly.We had a plain cheese to really test how good it was, and then a spinach/Gorgonzola/mushroom pie. We enjoyed them both. Theservice was great (grazie Anthony!) and the owner Jimmy was so genuine and personable. We live 2 hours from here but we?realready planning our return to try their dinner menu. Hubby has been raving about the New Haven style pizza he had in a road trip thru CT, and when he found out there was one in... Stuart, Fl he drove out to pick some up for me. We got the Esther's Eggplant, Jimmy's Favorite, andSpinach/Mushroom/Gorgonzola. Our favorite was the eggplant one - we could not stop eating it. The other 2 were also great but wecould only handle a slice of it. Jimmy's favorite was spicyyyyyyy (I loved it, hubby's taste buds couldn't handle it tho haha).The Gorgonzola (aka blue cheese) pie was very rich, but you'll enjoy if you love blue cheese. Hubby said he was expecting thepizza to be a bit thinner. However, as someone who never had New Haven style pizza, I thought they were absolutely delicious -toppings were plentiful, sauce flavored perfectly, and crust super crispy. We also got tiramisu and cannolis - the top of thetiramisu was a bit frozen..? The pizza and service (Stacey) at Fantini?s was awesome. The flavor of the sauce was perfect with the right amount of spice,... and the pizza was cooked perfectly. It is obvious that they are pros who have been doing this for a very long time. The owner,Jimmy, was very kind to my 6-year old son and let him watch them in the kitchen and even gave him a little dough to take home. Super cool. The restaurant is beyond swamped these days because of Dave Portnoy?s glowing review. People should appreciatethat it?s a very small shop with just a few employees doing their best to handle unprecedented interest in the wake of thepublicity. So, you should keep that in mind and be understanding if you intend to visit in the near term. Been in this area what feels like forever, but has only been a short few months. In that time, I have been trying to fill this... pizza void being from the Naugatuck valley and having gone to college in Hamden where the night life was all in New Haven, CT.That said, all my expectations when ordering and eating pizza in FL has been set to NY and New Haven styled pizza by default.Nothing has come close though. Not that the pizza I had wasn?t good, but nothing was quite the same as home?. That is until Iate at Fantini?s. My mind is still blown with how they have the taste of home transported all the way here in Florida. I havenothing negative to say. You get what you pay for and they are incredibly inviting, friendly, the food is magnificent and theyeven go out of their way to have Foxon Park beverages imported and delivered to the restaurant for the full New Haven, CT pizzaexperience. The family and its staff are honestly so inviting and wonderfully nice. If you?re looking for an ambiance being fromCT originally that makes you feel right at home, you might just find here. I know I did. They have all the significant piecesthat make New Haven stand out along the walls in black and white and as well as a Yale University banner, before walking in tothe restaurant they have a mini sign up that pays tribute to one of the streets known best for New Haven pizza too. My chicken parm sandwich was delicious. Pizza was a little overcooked, but I was told it was still delicious. The waitress was... very friendly, and they had our table ready and waiting for us when we walked in. Overall good food, just overpriced. Read more
