Reviews for The WhistlePig Pavilion in Stowe, VT
This place was amazing. Honestly my favorite place we visited while in Stowe. Between the atmosphere and the delicious food. We... had to go twice. I have never Raclette and Andre was very helpful/friendly on what to choose and what to do in town. I will 100percent be back next year!! To visit Andre and the restaurant. Read more
Eh. . . honestly a little disappointed. I really enjoy ordering a nice glass of bourbon/ whiskey when going out and checking... off-brands I haven't had yet, but Whistlepig Pavillion was just ok. Cool ambiance but overall, the drinks were nothing special, and WAY overpriced. I get that Stowe probably gets people that are okay paying that price for a drink, but $22 for a cocktail??(Last Ryed cocktail is what I ordered). I thought was a bit crazy. I would have ordered the Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned, but Icouldn't justify paying $27 on one drink. Let alone, the drinks weren't filled to their entirety and they were served in aplastic cup so there was nothing special about it. I'm glad we stopped there for at least one drink, but the prices forcocktails are a bit outrageous. Read more
Not sure why people are going here for and rating it based on food (limited menu but the gooey cheese is very good) when it's... ALL about the whiskey! If you love WhistlePig or any good bourbon or rye then you will appreciate the cocktails or straightwhiskey! As a whiskey drinker the Pavilion makes for the perfect after slopes spot for an old fashioned or a warm whiskeycocktail! People it's called WhistlePig and you go there to drink tasty whiskey drinks so stop judging based on food. Drink hereand eat somewhere else as there are plenty of great dining options in Stowe! Very disappointing. I'm trying to be diplomatic here as I enjoy Whistlepig products generally. I also have no problem paying... for a quality dining experience. Wings were undercooked, chopped Brisket was overcooked and dry and smothered in sauce to coverthis up. Meal prices were exorbitant. The one redeeming item was the effort of our server, Heydy, who was a gem. Read more
We went there for dinner and ordered the BBQ feast, and wings as an appetizer. Beautiful outdoor dining and live music... experience. BUT, you need to tell them you want appetizers FIRST, we got our food before our wings and they said that's howthey do it there. And there is no description for the pulled chicken other than it's smoked and pulled. From the picture, ourscame out smothered in an off tasting sauce, not quite BBQ or buffalo sauce, couldn't pin it down but you don't taste smoke orchicken. Definitely recommend the wings and the pulled pork, and those corn muffins were INCREDIBLE. DO NOT ORDER THE PULLEDCHICKEN, IT WAS DISGUSTING. We told our server and she was a bit spacy about it, dismissing it. We'd go back though, just alittle wiser. And the greasy kielbasa was nothing to write home about. Read more
The first night at The Lodge we dined here and the service was good. The food was decent. Staying in the middle of the week,... during the off season doesn't afford you many options in the number of places to eat. We ended up ordering take-out anothernight. My husband enjoyed the pulled chicken on the first night so he ordered it for take-out with extra potato salad andcoleslaw. Instead what we got was a side of corn and mac n cheese. Not what he ordered. When we called to say they gave us thewrong order, they insisted that the chicken was somewhere in the bag. I promise you, the chicken was NOT in the bag. They sentthe poor hostess up to our room to argue this to us and only sent the replacement sides- still no pulled chicken. After a secondtrip, she dropped off a little portion of chicken- half the size of what we were served in- restaurant the first night. Not surewhat else to say. Read more
We can to WhistlePig for Aprés Ski and had a great time here. Drinks were delicious and the winter warmers hit the spot after a... long day of skiing. We also got the nachos, which were tasty but not amazing. As it is located at the base of the mountain, expect to pay more for drinks and food. Overall, great place for drinks after skiing, particularly if you enjoy whiskey. Read more
+ Nice ambiance, kind and attentive staff. - old fashioned last year was $20, now $27. We decided to get the 12 year single... pour instead. $32 single pour comes in a plastic cup which ruins the experience, and it sounds like the far more expensivesingle pours do as well. Pretzel was really really average. Read more
