Reviews for Alpine Hall in Stowe, VT
We are staying at the lodge and was told no RSVP was required since it was a slow day. When we arrived, there was no one to... greet us. After a few minutes (even after I made eye contact with 2 of the 3 bartenders), finally, 1 server came out to greetus. Right away, the tone was... Do you have a reservation? (The whole place was completely EMPTY. WE ARE THE 1ST TABLE). I saidno, we just arrived at the lodge. He looked irritated and asked all kinds of info. Name, 1st and last, phone number, etc justshort of my social security number. Never had to give my whole info just eat at a restaurant. Then, the hostess finally showedup and the server just took off without giving her any info. She stood there confused. We finally got seated. The food was justOK. We had several dishes and the steak was expensive and said it was prime meat. It tasted more like cheap tri-tip. It wasoverpriced for the quality. The restaurant ended up with 30% full when we left. Amazing service! Initially came for a quick bite with friends on our way to an event, the food was pretty good, but the service... was so outstanding. We ended up going back twice more in our weekend stay. Our server Dawn was attentive, observant and superfriendly. I work in hospitality and was impressed. Menu is plain and simple; I hope they keep working to make the food as goodas the service! Read more
We came in the summer- Service was lacking. We had to ask to be seated, never received a menu. Had no clue it was a buffet until... someone told us. Beautiful space though! Food was average to above average. Way overpriced for what we received. Read more
We had lunch at Alpine Hall. We?ve been coming to the Stowe Mountain Resort for years and have seen many changes. This is a nice... addition to the resort. We ordered the brussel sprouts and calamari to start which were both great, but the sprouts were some ofthe best I?ve ever had. Then we both had the eggplant parm sammies with vodka sauce and pesto. Yum! Definitely give this place achance. Service was fantastic! Read more
Our family and friends decided to celebrate New Years here as it was suppose to be upscale dining. My wife and I have eaten at... some of the best restaurants in the US to mom and pop restaurants. This place was the absolute worst experience we have everhad. We were a group of 13. Out of 14 meals only two were edible. I ordered the waygu beef which is typically a very fattytender piece of meat. What arrived was a tough very lean piece of meat definitely not waygu and the fries would have been betterif they came from McDonald?s. The other meals were pasta which was over cooked with dry meat balls. The cauliflower wasextremely watery and bland. We were extremely disappointed in the food and response given by the manager. For being in such abeautiful location one would expect the food to be amazing. Our server was great but the manager had no idea what customerservice is all about. If zero stars were an option that?s what I would give it. Read more
Had both breakfast and dinner at the newly renovated restaurant within the Lodge at Spruce Peak called Alpine Hall, both... experiences were great. Breakfast is served buffet style and is really nice with lots of options. Dinner is based on an alacarte menu but kids do eat buffet style. My son loved it and our main courses were great. We would definitely go back, theresturant was beautifully redone by the way. Read more
We dined here despite the 1-star reviews prior to ours and we were not disappointed. Kisha, our server, was incredibly... attentive, thorough, and kind, It took a long time for my husband to get his cocktail (30-45 min) but once he had it, it was adelicious drink! We started with the caesar salad, and a bottle of wine, and then shared the bucatini and meatballs for two. Thepasta dish was large, and $42. Both the pasta and meatballs were over-cooked and the sauce was nothing outstanding but stillcost $42. We were surprised to see very young kids at every other table at a restaurant this costly, but they had a large kids?buffet that must attract young families. This is definitely not a date place as we?d expected. This restaurant is part of theSpruce Peak Hotel and very much feels like a hotel bar. Expect to spend $18-25 for a cocktail, and expect to be surrounded bykids. Service was good, food was pretty good, atmosphere was ok at best. Read more
