I?ve always wanted to try this place. This place is a perfect waterfront location with a parking lot. They offer kids a kids... menu and they will provide crayons for them to color. We were able to sit outside and in the shade where we could still see thewater. Our waitress was nice. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the clam chowder. The clam chowder was delicious! Thereweren?t too many potatoes in it and it was really thick. We also got the regular calamari, which was good and crispy and thelegs on the calamari were not extra chewy. My son got the steak kids meal that he absolutely loved it and was cooked toperfection and the waffle sweet potato fries were also delicious! We also got the mushroom bruschetta and also the shrimptostada. Everything was delicious and flavorful but the tostada was a little hard to eat so we definitely utilized thoseutensils. I got the tropical mojito that was very tasty and I felt like I was in the Caribbean and my husband stuck with draftbeers. They have a decent beer list. It seems like they also may have daily specials and soups of the day. We will certainlyvisit again and love their variety of food! Read more

We always enjoy going to Breakwater! This restaurant is always consistent with its food, cocktails and service. The wife and I... have found that one of the biggest problems with waterfront dining in Connecticut and New England for that matter is lack ofconsistency in good/great food and service. We never worry about that when we come to Breakwater! The only other place inNew England that I would mention is Coastguard House in RI. That to me and I hope to Breakwater is quite a compliment!
