Our server (older gentleman) was so friendly! It?s so relieving when you can go to a place as a person of color and get treated... with respect and kindness. He constantly checked on us. Made sure our glasses were full and kept a smile on his face. We met theowner very nice gentleman as well and talented chef! The food was SO GOOD! Fried Okra was the Bomb! The Rosemary Corn? was notlike anything I ever tasted. That corn alone is 5 stars. It was my favorite thing. My boyfriend and my parents said its alsotheir favorite. We also ordered hummus and that was good too. But overall, I HIGHLY recommend the Rosemary Corn and the friedokra 100%. And maybe even the Hummus too. Read more
Story time! ???????? So I moved from Midtown to Stone Mountain. I?m being a foodie, I was a little worried about the food scene... in Stone Mountain. A neighbor told me about this place and let me tell you it is some of the best food ever! I came here firstand got the fried chicken with a side of mustard greens and potatoes. Delicious! Came here for brunch, the mimosas were very good with fresh orange zest. I ordered the savory chicken and waffles per our... waiters suggestion., It was good although I?m more of a sweets person, would have probably liked it better with good oldfashioned syrup. This delightful gem is set up in one of the many historic buildings in the heart of Stone Mountain Village. The staff is mature,... welcoming, and attentive, and I was quite impressed with the taste of the food. The fried starters (Calamari and Okra) weretasty and light, and the housemade sauces complimented them beautifully. The Rainbox Trout w/Pecan Butter was cooked perfectlyand the chosen sides of Snap Beans and Gold Beets were delicious. I tasted the care and thought that went into preparation andserving. This was my first time at Cherokee Rose BBQ and it was a great experience. I was promptly greated at the door when I walked in... for brunch. The service was great and the brunch menu is outstanding. I went with the BBQ Hash with Eggs and added a Mimosa.Everything was tasty and prepared well. While there, I glanced at the dinner menu and the selections would make for a greatdinner out. In addition to BBQ, which you would expect, they had several nice cuts of beef and pork as well as some seafoodoptions. There were also a good number of sides to choose from. this place is phenomenal. from the moment you walk in, the staff and the owners make you feel like family. we?re regulars but... got the exact same friendly treatment our first couple times visiting. they?ve recently opened up for brunch and you absolutelyneed to visit. I will dream about the pimento grit bowl with shrimp tonight, and I don?t normally enjoy grits or pimento?.it wasthat good. everything they serve comes out at the right temperature, the wait staff are so friendly and foresee your needs soyou?re able to really enjoy your dining experience. we love coming here on Friday nights for a good time and now can?t wait tocome back for sat/sun brunch. they frequently have live music, the menu changes seasonally and they can host private parties intheir party space. the ambiance is the perfect mix of classy and casual. we?ve never ordered anything off the menu we didn?tenjoy - our favorites for dinner are the pulled pork, creamed turnips, and the scallops. brunch is excellent with our favesbeing the aforementioned pimento grit shrimp bowl, the waffles, the pecan coffee cake and the eggs/bacon. there is no bettermeal to be had in Stone Mountain Village. My wife and I celebrated our ten year anniversary here and enjoyed the best brunch I've ever had. I cant say enough good things... about this place! Our server, Michael was amazing. He was always able to anticipate our needs before we ever asked, made perfectsuggestions from the menu, and remembered our names. The food was perfect in every way.
