Jerry and Lauren Gormley prepared a sumptuous dinner for us. Starting with dates stuffed with pistachios and wrapped in bacon,... plus lollipop lamb chops. A salad w/a balsamic reduction, red onions and goat cheese followed. Next, risotto with shitakemushrooms and duck confit. Main course, filet mignon w/horseradish whipped cream and baked shrimp scampi. A trio ofdesserts-pecan pie, apple pie and chocolate ganache. So many compliments on our wedding cake - would highly recommend The Painted Pie! We went with a carrot cake flavor, which was... divine. With some slight variances in ingredients, it made for a unique flavor, and a great, moist texture. Jerry and Laurenhelped us not only ensure the cake tasted delicious, but also looked like the three cake display that was our vision, orderingoyster shells and tapered candles to perfect it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your event or special occasion. The Painted Pie created the cakes for my daughter\'s wedding in Stone... Harbor in October, 2022. We decided to have a regular sized cake for the bride and groom and \"side cakes\" to be sliced bythe caterer for our guests. First of all.... this baker is an artist. His cakes are on another level. The bride and groomwanted the carrot cake, which is a nut-free, raisin-free creation with an orange cream cheese icing. Beyond delicious. Thecarrot and pineapple in the cake are macerated, so the cake has a sophisticated crumb to it; not the typical chunky carrot cake. The side cakes were chocolate with vanilla butter icing. Perhaps the best chocolate cake I\'ve ever had. An intensechocolate flavor without being overly sweet. We were very impressed with the The Painted Pie! Read more
