Reviews for Nena's Mexican Cuisine in Stockton, CA
I was super excited about trying place but very disappointed with the food and service. One person takes the drink order, and... then serves it to u. And another person takes ur order. The person that took the order didn't come for a very very long time. Iwould say a good 25-30 minutes. And it really was not that busy. Once we got our food it was not flavored very well. I expectedmore but it was disappointing. The only thing that was exceptional were the drinks and alcohol. There isn't much more I can sayabout this place. I don't feel as though I will go back unless it's just for drinks. But I'm a drink and eat kinda guy. Read more
Fantastic Mexican food! Fresh tortillas that you can watch being made. Authentic flavor north of the border. This location... was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad they did! 100% spot on! Friendly staff and very quick service. No issues. Iwill definitely stop again when I'm in the Stockton area. Read more
Delicious food. Friendly service. If you like it hot ask for a side of the vampire sauce. It brings the heat. My daughter is not... a big Mexican food fan so had the burger and fries. Loved it!!! Read more
I hadn't been here in a while, so I was happy to meet a friend for lunch here. I had the taco salad with birria, and it was as... delicious as I remember. The homemade flour tortillas are still my absolute favorite! Our server was welcoming and friendly. She was attentive to our needs and quick to tell our drinks. Overall, this was a great visit. I can't wait to go back! Read more
Sat right away. Ordered not long after getting drinks. Food however did take about 30 mins to start coming out. The burger one... of us ordered, had the bottom bun burnt and the bun is bigger than the insides of the burger. Forgot to take pic of the rest ofthe burger... Green enchiladas were actually a bit spicy which was a nice surprise. There was a waiter that kept coming by tosee if we needed anything, during our whole visit. In general, the food was good and the staff was attentive. Might not returnto this location though because of long wait time for food to be served and it is quite noisy unlike the other location on B St.It's noisy mostly because of the people at the bar area but also one hostess who would sit customers arriving. She wouldliterally yell out to them or if someone was picking up an order, she would yell to them, asking why they were waiting. Read more

Convenient spot that had nice size plates and drinks. Probably chose wrong day to stop in as they were busy and bar service was... a little slow. Food was pretty decent. Drink was good. Read more
I first walked in with my guitar and my bag and went to the bar to have a drink. There's a lot of homeless people in this area... so it was kind of a test. The bartender quickly served me and no one even questioned why I had the equipment. They even offeredme a table. On my way out I went to the restroom which was really hot. So is in the middle of the restaurant, the restroom, andit's air conditioned I think, but by the time I handled my business I was sweating. And that is about the only negative thatthis place has. The food was delicious. The service was kind and on point even the manager came over and asked me. Waseverything great during the course of my meal? It's like they got restaurant 101 down. They make their own tortillas and you cango and watch them doing it, so there is some craft going on and show happening. It's just a real genuine dining experience. Ithas the big tables for big families and they're not really crammed really close together but you get the feel that this is afamily restaurant. There's ample parking out back and in the front and on the side. So this place is in a really good positionon the water. I really enjoyed this restaurant and I hope that they do well. Oh, and the only other caveat is that they do notserve you food to go off the back dock. You have to walk in the front door and talk to either the bartender or a weight staff inorder to order and then they'll hand it to you and then you can go out the front door. Seems like a missed opportunity. Read more
