My husband and I found a hidden little gem in rural Montana for sure! They were definitely short staffed but the bar tender and... the cook pulled it off! Such nice people great costumer service. If you remember Burger Master, then this is the place to go. They have most of the original menu but omg the onion rings are... insane! Great food but since its a bar, all the tables are highboys and your legs fall asleep quickly which ruins theexperience. Read more
This place has ranch dressing that stands out over all other ranch dressing I have ever tried. Would give a 5 but this place is... still living in the 1800s and will only take cash. When I left Great Falls 25 years ago, BurgerMaster and Zandy's were still in business. After moving home again, I was bummed to... find both were gone. (I'd worked for BurgerMaster back in the late 80s and early 90s) Then I was told the recipes lived on, andhad to check it out. The American NAILED IT! So happy I ventured out there! The works sauce is just as good as I remember it,and the onion rings are a dead ringer! Can't wait to go back to try the Ramp Burger, Pizza Burger, and the Bob's Special! Enjoyed a Saturday watching a football game, then went to the American bar because I have always heard so much about. Lots of... nostalgia, very friendly staff, enjoyed a kicked up French dip with Burger Meister onion rings. French dipwith generous amountof roast beef pepperoncini peppers and creamed horseradish was outstanding. Looking for a reason to get back that way as it is alittle bit off the beaten path, might just have to make an afternoon drive. Read more

Closed for renovation. Phone number doesn't work. Get recording saying call cannot be completed as dialed. Wife and I rode... our motorcycles there 7/16/2022. We had never been there and were really looking forward to the visit based on the greatreviews and beautiful pictures of food on their website. Sign on door is hand written on a piece of paper and looks like itsbeen there for quite a while. Hope they haven't actually closed for good. Hey American Bar.
