Landmark hotel in the heart of the berkshires. Well maintained and clean. Historic Colonial atmosphere with beautiful lobby and... majestic fireplace. Tapas bar with live entertainment and great food/drinks downstairs and legendary white table cloth, farm tomarket dining room upstairs. Amazing cuisine. You can't go wrong here, and you'll be wanting to come back time and again! Read more
My stay from the dates of 10/9-10/12 was sadly disappointing after previous pleasant stays. The entire hotel including the... village houses are looking pretty worn and run down with chipping paint and a general lack of maintaining of the grounds. Thered carpeting of the hotel was literally black with dirt. This was my first impression after arrival. Add to that the same lackof maintaining the interior of the old inn with frayed curtains and lackluster cleaning and long waits for dinner. I’ve stayedin all types of rooms here in both the main inn and the village houses but my stay this time in Maple Glen was by far the worst. We were told this was “new” but in reality it is an old 1840 house with small and uncomfortable rooms lacking in lightingand comfortable beds. My room on the first floor had painted floors which could have been attractive if they were clean. Thefurniture looked like garage sale rejects with crooked and broken lamp shades and a refrigerator between a desk and chair.Painted in putrid colors only making the room look dark. An impossibly small coffee bar and uncomfortable room flow didn’thelp the situation. The bathroom, however, was functional with heated floors. We had planned to eat our meals at the inn butrather than giving inn patrons preference for reservations, the dining room allowed a multitude of outside reservations.Considering the shortage of help and lack of any housekeeping and not even coffee available at Maple Glen, I could not recommendthis location to anyone. A huge disappointment after much anticipation of a great stay. Read more
Before today I would have given this place 5 stars and a glowing review. We stopped on our way through. It was my girls first... time going. I wanted to treat them to lunch. We waited a half hour for our table which is fine. It’s busy and I understand. When we were seated we found out the tavern menu was the same as the main dining room. It was fine for me and my older daughterbut my younger daughter has some dietary restrictions she can usually get around with most menues but not the extremely limitedone they had. I asked if their were any other options we could manage. There weren’t which is whatever. Would would have beenwilling to work around it as best we can. However the server was extremely rude about the entire situation. To the point mydaughters and I did not feel comfortable staying. The Main Street cafe only a half block down is wonderful. Go there. Inn is old. That is the charm. Full of history, character, antiques, etc. Common areas are rather dark. Food and service in the... main dining room was outstanding. They get 2 stars because of the rooms. Definitely not worth $400 per night. Being olddoesn't justify old, worn, tired, gross carpet; horrible cushions on all in room furniture, you just sink down; crackingwallpaper, etc. Also the road next to the west side had noisy truck traffic all night. Significant maintenance is needed aroundwindows. I recommend going for lunch/tea on the terrace or afternoon wine on the terrace followed by dinner. Stay somewhereelse. Read more

Stopped by for lunch, did not stay in room. Place is very old. Lots of antiques all over the place. Staff was very friendly.... Best to make reservations. I had the fish and chip, wife had the turkey sandwich. Both were excellent. Fish was very lightcrispy breading. Fries were incredible. Cole slaw was very different, almost vinegar like. I did not like it. Sandwich wasreally good, turkey was tender with lots of flavor. Chips were really good. We had the brown sugar cake for desert. Swappedvanilla for coffee ice cream. OMG, really good. Read more
