We've been here twice, the first time was better than the second. We sat at the bar and the waitress took our drink order,... brought our drinks then disappeared down to the opposite end of the bar. We sat with closed menus for 15 minutes before theother bartender asked if we wanted to order. The item my husband ordered was "no longer on the menu", which seemed odd. Great restaurant located inside the Holiday Inn and Convention Center. I really enjoyed my burger (Fat David - it had brisket, a... burger, and fried pickles on a pretzel bun), but my colleagues also raved about the salmon. Service was excellent, greatselection of drinks, and good ambience made for a memorable evening. Read more
This place is way better than you average bar and grill that is attached to a hotel. The food is pretty good, the service is... friendly, and they have a really good beer list that includes several locals. I will go back here again. Read more
First Visit: xx/xx/xxxx 4 years ago, we stopped in to try them and it wasn't a pleasant experience so we decided not to return... up until a few weeks ago, March 05, 2022. Second Visit: 03/05/2022 We had a great time when we ate here on the 5th of march.The service was great and the food was even better as can be seen in the photo. Based on our experience from this visit, wequickly made Amber Grill one of our favorite spots as their Prime Rib was one of the best I've had from the area which meantthat we would be stopping here at least once a month. Third Visit: 03/26/2022 We decided to eat here as we were back in thearea and wanted some prime rib. We ordered two 16oz prime rib together with a few things. We had an extremely disappointingexperience as our steaks came out raw twice (rare even after it came back in to the kitchen). The steaks were inedible as mywife usually gets hers medium while I get mine medium rare. I truly expected more considering we spent about $100 between thetwo of us just for the steaks. Things that were off: 1) the steaks came out raw. We had it sent back to the kitchen as weunderstand that mistakes do happen but it came back out still rare for both. 2) the steak as well as the Au Jus tasted likepizza for some reason. 3) There was a family who wanted to sit at a specific table/booth and the host refused to let themselect where they wanted to be seated until what I assume to be the manager said something, allowing them to take that spot.That was an odd conversation to overhear but I wish that their host was a bit more accommodating. Kaleigh was our server andshe was very nice and apologetic throughout our whole experience. I felt bad for her as I understand that servers have nocontrol over our food. We did ask if the chef was different because everything was just off about the food. We got room service to the Holiday Inn. That shouldn't affect the quality of their food. My Filet was done perfectly. My friend... specifically asked for a medium rare burger. It was well done. The dessert was not at all what was described. I was expectingbetter food. Read more

We were uncertain based on the varying opinions of other reviews. We found Amber Grill to be a very good experience. The menu... was varied, the prices consistent (actually we were surprised by other Stevens Point locations very high). The servers were veryfriendly and the service timely. The food was good and overall a great experience. We don't know if we were lucky or others werejust harsh but we had a great experience. I went to dinner with my Fiancé to celebrate his time and service as a veteran tonight. This was our first time at this... restaurant. Our experience was very poor as the wait staff was not at all attentive to us. The food was not delicious enough tobe treated this way.
