If you are looking for authentic Cuban food look no further! This place has it all, amazing food genuine hospitality, and and... authenticity that is often missing in most restaurants. I saw this place while furniture shopping 3 weeks ago and vowed to comeback and try it (I live over 50 miles away). Fast forward to Labor Day I returned to the area looking for furniture and stoppedin for lunch. Wow the smell of bread and perfectly seasoned pork immediately hit my senses and I knew this was going to bespecial. I ordered a Cuban which was stuffed with delicious meats and cheese and perfectly crisp and soft bread. I asked for asample of the pork (prior or ordering) and it was like taking a trip back to my favorite Cuban restaurant in Fl. The rice andblack beans were amazing seasoned pork was heavenly. The plantains were perfectly sweet and overall this was a perfectexperience...don't walk run to this place. You will NOT be disappointed great food and amazing hospitality what more can you ask Read more

My wife and I both had their signature sandwich, the Cubasi, best Cuban we've had, maybe except in Miami. The bread was toasted... a bit hard for me, but perfect for her. More ham and pork than expected, with just the right amount of pickle and mustard. Wealso inquired about their whole roasted pigs, which sound like a huge bargain for a party. Read more

This meat costs 20 dollars and it is extremely salty. Can?t taste any other flavors than just salty.. also the Cubasi sandwich... is extremely salty too. We couldn?t finish them just because they are way too salty. Do not recommend.. Read more

Considering the last time I eat authentic Cuban food was in Miami FL, I really wanted to try Cubasi Bistro. Lechon or otherwise... known as Roast Pork Cuban Sandwiches is one of my favorites. Tostones among other things were definitely on my list of items totry Cubasi. So here it goes. The main dish portions will easily be sufficient for two people to enjoy a good Cuban dish. Theroast pork was very tender but lacked flavor, I expected more considering the Cuban Island is known for its flavorful dishes. The Mofongo dish was nicely decorated and came with some crispy tostones (Flatten Green Plantains) which were very delicious,I'd say my favorite. The sweet plantain was done just right and did not disappoint. It was hard not to eat each one in just onebite. Yummy! The Cuban Sandwich lacked flavor. The roasted pork was a bit dry but made up in the amount provided One Cuban willeasily feed two people. You'll want to dip in the vinegar sauce provided with the meal and don't forget to order a nice drinkwhile you eat the Cuban, you'll need it to swallow with ease. The overall sitting and dining area were pleasantly decoratedwith Cuban Memorabilia. Finally, the cost. The Cuban Sandwich is around $15 Palomilla Steak with Onions $22 Puerto RicanMofongo Bowls $19 Extra Tostones $9 So much food, couldn't eat it all. Overall I would recommend thisrestaurant and will return. Let me know what you think when you visit them. Read more

I?d like to start saying that the food here is good overall. The roast pork is to die for and as authentic as it can be for... Cuban food. The sides are very good as well, they could work on the portions for the sides but that?s maybe the Cuban in mewanting more Congris for the price. Now, the reason I give it 2 starts is for the service. I?ve been at this place 3 timescoming from DC looking for authentic Cuban food and honestly this is as good as it gets in the area. But I can say that becauseof the service I don?t see myself driving 30 something minutes there and back. Well, the lady at the register has no clue ofwhat the dishes are and if they are available, every time you ask for something she turns to the side and ask other workers ifthey have the item we are asking for. For a very small menu that should not be case. I even asked her if they had tamales andshe said we don?t sell them until a coworker corrected her and said we don?t have them now. Then it went downhill from there. Each order came 10 minutes apart, the appetizer we asked for (cod fritters - not worth the price) came after the entrées. Andafter waiting for long while for one of our mains, she came to reconfirm what my friend had asked for only to bring the wrongorder 5 minutes later missing one of the sides cause it was still being cooked. We also ordered some smoothies and after all ofthat she came to let us know there was no mango If we wanted something else ????????. It was a disaster. And when we brought allthis up to the attention of one of the waiters he said ?Sorry? like he didn?t know what to do with that and left. In summary, Idoubt I?ll make it again but I?ll miss the roast pork. Hopefully they hire better staff for the new Bethesda location???????????????????????? Read more

I blame Jon Favreau and his movie Chef for craving a Cubano sandwich, which is how i ended up here at Cubasi Bistro. I ordered... their Media Noche and their Yuca with Mojo. The bread they used with the media noche was really great and had a great flavor onits own. Add that it was toasted perfectly made it way better. The ham is also subtly sweet and just perfect way to add flavorto the overall sandwich. The pork seemed a little bland if tasted on its own, but it?s a perfect complement when eaten as awhole with the sweet ham and bread, with the sourness of the pickles. By the way, the portion size is huge, so if you?rethinking it seems expensive, it because it?s humongous. I haven?t tried Yuca with Mojo prior to this and i wasn?t sure what toexpect. Overall it?s a good side dish to go with the media noche. The sweetness of the yuca is balanced well with the slightsourness of the mojo. I will definitely come back for more of their media noche, and will give their other mains a try. Read more
