I wanted to give Yampa Valley Kitchen more stars, especially because I love its sister restaurants (Mambo and Besame). However,... the food was not up to the standard of the other restaurants. All of the potatoes we were served (in the rosti, the home fries,and the side of french fries) were overcooked - not exactly burnt, but so overly crispy that there was no moisture left. Verydisappointing. The service and the atmosphere were great - the staff was accommodating of our dog (who can only be in one halfof the garden), and the garden itself is beautiful. The interior of the restaurant feels like stepping back into a quainthistorical cabin... Which you are. But there definitely needs to be better quality control on the food coming out of thekitchen. I might visit again for the atmosphere, and hope that the potatoes were a fluke. Read more
If it wasn’t for the rude service my husband and I received eating at the bar yesterday at lunch, I would have given Yampa... Valley Kitchen five stars. We had bok choy salad and the salmon sesame bowls. Both of generous portions and tasty. The salmonbowl was a touch salty. Read more

Excellent food and service in a clean bright airy room!!! I came in for a light, late lunch. Didnt work out that well. It became... a 3 course meal with 2 different wines by the glass and a small batch rye neat. Had the vegetarian onion soup, ranks in the bestI have had. Then had the ham and mushroom crepe, then a bowl of house made soft serve ice cream. Server Kendra was polite,friendly and efficient. Chap behind the bar was pleasant and helpful with the local whiskey selections. This is my first timehere and I wish I would have known about it sooner!!!
