Great food and good service. Amazing outdoor space with games and things for everyone

We arrived at 8:30 and didn't leave until 9:50. They were NOT understaffed, and we were seated relatively quickly. It took 5... minutes for them to bring us water and because of that, we ordered immediately instead of taking our time with the menu. Whilewe waited, several other tables were seated and fed. After 30 minutes went by, we notified someone who wasn't our waiter (as ourwaiter hadn't been by once, not even to refill our empty waters), and he put in our order immediately. We still had to waitanother 20 minutes for our food, and within that 20 minutes had to ask that our waters be refilled. Meanwhile, as we werehungrily waiting for those 50 minutes, we saw 2 tables empty that were seated and fed and checked out after we were seated, andthose tables were poorly cleaned and set up for the next party. The table next to us? It took 3 different employees SIX trips tothat table, and it STILL wasn't cleaned. As a former waitress, I was appalled at the inefficiency of the staff. The table behindus? Same thing - 3 different people came by 5 different times, and the table still wasn't clean - you could SEE the dirt,despite it being "set up" for the next party. As for the food? Poorly presented, and the breakfast potatoes were under-seasoned(if seasoned at all) and definitely overcooked. My omelet wasn't presented well at all, and the vegetables were undercooked.There was very little cheese at all, and it was definitely lacking in flavor. I will NEVER go back to this place, at least notuntil it's rescued by one of those makeover TV shows. They are incredibly inefficient. After traveling for a week on the road for our 40th anniversary and 70th birthdays, my husband and I had lost hope in getting a... good meal. Then we came to Rex's.....connected to the Holiday Inn Express in Steamboat Springs, CO, and had the best food ever!If I could give it one hundred stars, I would! Fabulous seasoning, perfectly cooked food, with a wonderful, friendly managerialstaff, and excellent waiters, also! We just kept coming back for the breakfast and dinner! Only tried one other place for abreakfast, that didn't hold a candle to the great food at Rex's! Why go someplace else, when this complete staff, and food isexcellent?! I hated leaving Steamboat to go home, because I would be leaving what has become like a family away from home withwonderful food! I recommend this restaurant HIGHLY! Read more

I have visited Rex's since they have opened. Every time I am in town I visit a minimum of 1 time. The Sweet and Sour Steak... (large pieces of NY Strip) special I had on 1/31 was the best meal I have had. Great job! The only negative I have is $18 fora double Tito's and OJ is outrageous. Wish I would have known before I saw $48 dollars for 3 drinks. CRAZY !!!! Read more

I was perplexed on how I wanted to rate Rex's Bar and grill. Ive been told they are a great place to eat, and I would have to... say they are just ok. The food is very expensive and was lacking complex flavors. Also my food was exceptionally salty and bythe end of my meal I wasn't enjoying myself. I was really disappointed because it looked amazing and sounded amazing, but leftme desiring more. I would like to go back and try something else, but for now Ill leave it with 3 stars. We stayed at the Holiday Inn. Rex's is connected. We had drinks and breakfast. The staff are super friendly. They have a ... relaxing place to sit and drink outside. You can also eat in the patio. Inside is decorated well. Seating is comfortable. Thefood was very tasty, fresh and reasonably priced. Read more

We heard good things about this place so decided to try it..we were a little hesitant with the location adjacent to the Holiday... Inn, so glad we have it a shot! Nice outdoor patio, plenty of indoor seating. Casual and family friendly also able toaccommodate big groups. Friendly service. We had dinner and all of the entrees were excellent. Full bar and dessert selectionas well. Generous portions and decent prices. Burgers were great. If you like spicy try the burger with jalapeños in it. Spinach artichoke dip was amazing too. Highly recommend trying them out and if you can grab a table on the patio. Read more
