It's been a while since I've been there and was pleasantly surprised with what I found. Food and service was always good and... the menu was good steaks, burgers, sandwiches and a few standard fish dishes. What a found last night was a varied, expanded andinteresting menu!! I like the atmosphere of this place. It?s very cozy and still has that old time feel to it, like if the walls could talk they... would have a lot of stories to share. The food was good, I got the salmon and a cup of French onion. I guess I wasn?t blown awayby the food which is why i gave four stars, but maybe next time around will be different. The West Shore Inn is my family's number one go-to spot on Staten Island. Somehow, even with such a diverse menu, everything is... always delicious. It may be a steakhouse but they specialize in so much more. I'm particularly a fan of their penne vodka andhonestly writing this review right now is making me want to go back and get an order of that pasta right now. It is a bar aswell as a restaurant and it has the feel of a pub you might walk into in the English countryside. The staff are always very niceand even though most times there is a bit of a wait for a table it's worth it, believe me. I definitely recommend having dinnerhere if you get the chance to! Read more
I was very disappointed in my food. My steak was cold on the inside very lukewarm on the outside. Vegetables were not warm at... all. The steak looked beautiful jawed very nicely medium rare on the inside. Appearances are deceiving. The atmosphere and theservice was very nice cannot complain at all about that. The emergency exit in the dining room was constantly being used bypeople in the restaurant to go out and smoke. I found that extremely annoying and distracting. It was not discouraged at all bythe restaurant. I walked away that night very disappointed in my dinner. I definitely have eaten better steaks. Read more
