Went with my friend during the week. The restaurant was empty, just another couple which was perfect because I hadn't seen my... friend and we didn't want to be rushed out. From the appetizer to the dessert, they kept coming to our table and taking the foodaway without asking. Several times, we had to tell them to leave the food. I understand if it was crowded or late but thatwasn't the case as we arrived for dinner at 6pm. My plate was extremely salty and the rice was under cooked which wasdisappointing because it was my first time there. Read more

Had a horrible experience at this place. The bar tender discouraged us sitting at the bar at 9 pm on a Saturday. ( the bar was... empty) We wanted to have a drink first at the bar then sit for dinner . Even though the kitchen closes at 10 pm, he did not wantus to do both. So we ended up having just dinner. Worse is he had an attitude and we felt like he did not want us there.Later on we found out he is one of the co owners of the restaurant. I have never written a negative review on anything buttoday I felt very uncomfortable To make things worse, the paella served at this restaurant was just steamed rice with addedboiled seafood. I have been coming here for over 30 years, ever since the original place was across the street. I had both of my kids'... communions there back then. I had dinner tonight with the same staff on hand, service and food was, as always, impeccable.thequality of everything was still the same, as it has been awhile since i have been there. You still have a great place Joe!!! Read more

We have not beenbto La Candela since the mid 90s and we decided to try it out after all these years, The resturant is extremely... well taken care of and is very clean and considering the age and location it still offers a quaint romantic setting for peacefulquiet dining, The menu offers a variety of Mexican and Spanish dishes with a very nice selection of Mexican combo plates whichinclude tacos, burrittos, and empanadas along with other favorites that offer you 3 choices with different meats for a nice plateof 3 different choices, I settled for the Mariscada plate which consisted of Mussels,Shrimp,Scallops and clams and I chose theGarlic sauce and it was very good, Dinners are served with a nice garden salad, basket of bread and a bowl of fresh made tortillachips and a bowl of delicious salsa, Dinners range from $22- and up depending on what you want and the servings are quite largeand well worth the cost, If you are craving Mexican or Spanish foods or a combo of both then La Candela is the resturant youneed to choose, Chances are you will be leaving with a doggie bag....????
