Used to work here, Jen never washes her hands and she harasses her employees. I don't know how they pass health inspections.

Pizza is good, service is not. The host, who also happened to be our server, got an attitude with us when asking if we could sit... outside - when there were already others sitting out there. We ordered via the website, got our drinks & food pretty quickly.The server's trainee apparently made a mistake in bringing out the wrong size pizza & a calzone with the wrong fillings, wedidn't notice the pizza mistake & started eating it. Server proceeded (a good while later) to come back over to acknowledge thatthey brought out the wrong calzone & would bring us the correct one as we hadn't started eating it yet. She tried to blame allof the mistakes made on the trainee, but isn't it your job to actually train & oversee the trainee? She also said the pizza wasactually a slightly bigger size than what we ordered, but since we had already started eating it, she had to charge us for themore expensive size. Never have I ever heard of a customer having to pay for the server's mistake, a mistake she admitted to,tried to blame on someone else & WAITED to correct. Hiway pizza is a great place with a great environment, especially if you're into sports, it has a sports bar feel to it with... multiple TVs playing multiple different sports games, so if that's your vibe it could be a fun hangout. Personally, I was therefor the pizza which was a mixed bag; the sauce was genuinely great and the serving size was humongous. The crust was reallythick which isn't something I prefer and the cheese and other ingredients were more fatty. Go for the environment, not thepizza. Read more

The white mushroom pizza w/extra mushrooms is excellent!!! And they have the best fried mushrooms in town.

Pizza in Pennsylvania isn't great. That being said, Hiway Pizza makes a good pie. What sets Hiway apart from other pizza places... in Penn State is their tomato sauce. It's not sharp from vinegar like most places here. The crust and bottom is a little more onthe 'bready' side which is good enough. The cheese is exactly what you expect. A greasy pizza however, definitely needs a patdown from a napkin before taking a bite. For my NJ/NY pizza snobs, I think you'll find Hiway to be better than most others inthe area (not including Snap which does artisanal pizza). Read more

Touchless menu which was fine and worked well. Overall I?d say it was 3.5-4 star. Wasn?t a huge wow factor but, everything had a... decent taste. Service was active and friendly. Read more
