Reviews for The Vine Cafe and Market in St. Louis, MO
Good food. The lunch specials are especially a good deal. Last time I was there, they were technically carry out only but it... functioned more like counter service since you were allowed to sit down and eat your food. Read more
Depending on what you get, the prices and portions are fair. However I would stay away from the shrimp, they were very plain and... a little under cooked. The sauce and seasoning for then was obviously tasty, but it all ended up in the rice. Read more
This was quiet possibly the worst Mediterranean food I?ve ever had. Chicken was not cooked throughly and was extremely dry and... not flavorful. The sauces were really basic, the pita was dry, the servings were small and everything was extremely overpriced.Pretty much nothing was good. The highlight for me and my girlfriends meal was the smoothie and even that wasn?t that good.Honestly I would much rather be refund for that meal it was horrible and I will most definitely not be going back. This wasactually recommended to me by a few coworkers but I believe they have not experienced quality Mediterranean food. Just becausefolks used to something it doesn?t make it good. Would not recommend, please stay away. Read more
I really hate to say it, but the vine has definitely fallen off over the last few years, used to be one of my favorite spots and... deserving of a 5 star, but every visit it gets a little worse. Unfriendly staff, which was always kind of their thing, who?revery inattentive, to the point where they don?t even offer table service. And the food itself has really taken a nose I?ve,their pita used to be the absolute best, this time around it was like leather bread. Read more
The beef in the vine kabob was juicy. The chicken shawarma was on the drier side. However, the tzatziki sauce redeemed the... shawarma. The lentil soup was also salty. The restaurant is dine-in, but everything comes in takeout containers. They lookunderstaffed, but the waitress was helpful. Read more
Falafel and fries were very good, chicken shawarma a bit dry but tasty but the winner is their pistachio baklava! Will come back... and try other items but mainly to order a tray of the baklava. Customer service was great as well. Reasonable price, too. Read more
My friend and I randomly stumbled upon this gem of a Mediterranean restaurant! We came for lunch before heading back home from... our vacation in St Louis. They have the best lentil soup I?ve ever had. I?m not a big lentil soup fan but this lentil soup washot, creamy, well seasoned, and had amazing texture. The beef shawarma had plenty of food for the price especially as a lunchspecial. The beef kabob is delicious too but I recommend the beef shawarma more. Both meats were very flavorful and tender. Youreally can?t go wrong with the food here! The lunch portions are enough for two or three meals depending on the person. Ihighly recommend and wish this is closer to where I live! Read more
I used to love this place! Mostly everything I tried on the menu used to be delicious! I just ordered the chicken zinger burger... and 2 bites in I absolutely was repulsed. It tasted like what a wet dog/salmonella would taste like. Just tasted awful and raw.I was so surprised at how strong the flavor was because chicken seems to be the safe option! If I ordered that for a child Iwould have been in trouble and would have had to run to pick something else up. I also ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Iwas confused when the chicken was tasting like goat and other animals. Again, chicken should be chicken and taste likechicken... I ended up calling the restaurant because I could not eat any of the chicken meals I ordered and wasted money andtime and was starving at this point. The chicken was attached by lamb or goat fat. It does NOT say anything about any otheranimal protein on the chicken Shawarma options. It was just a terrible surprise I did not expect or enjoyed. Lastly, the staffare all very rude. Like EXTREMELY rude. The one great and positive thing I will say is their mint lemonade is delicious and sois their baklava. Quality of the food is NOTICEABLY not as great prior to covid. Read more
