Reviews for Pieces Board Game Bar And Restaurant in St. Louis, MO
My husband and I had a wonderful reception hosted at Pieces in their clubhouse rooms. We wanted a laid back event with good food... and drinks and the Pieces staff delivered! They did a great job taking care of our group of over 60 people while the main areawas also packed and our friends all raved about how awesome the drinks, cake, and cookies were. It was absolutely the perfectevent for us and I really appreciate how well taken care of we were by everyone. Would highly recommend Pieces for both just afun date night and for an event! Read more

The food was tasty and so were the drinks. I loved the game library. They had a good selection of games to choose from. Staff... was friendly and helpful with figuring out game directions. The waiters we always very attentive when the colored sticks areput in the air. It's a great way to to be to focus on the game, when you need something just put one, two, or all three coloredsticks in the air to indicate what you need. The waiter that took our order made great suggestions and gave a greatreview/description on the beyond sausage. It was very tasty. Read more
Off to a shaky start, but I was generally so pleased with my visit to Pieces. I was exploring Soulard on foot, and went in... looking for a restroom before I ate. I have to say that the restroom was messy, cleaning supplies everywhere, a strong odor, water on the floors and around the toilets, and the stickiest floors imaginable. At that point I did almost turn around andleave. I went inside the restaurant itself. There was no one at the door and no indication of whether I should seat myself. Ihad a seat at an empty table...and sat there for some time. No one came with water or a menu or anything, though servers werecoming and going. Finally I noticed this little...canister in the middle of the table with three different colored flags, one tosignal you wanted food, so I put that up. This brought a server right to my table, and they said, "Are you joining the partyback there?" and gestured to a full table. I said, "...No?" They said, "Have you been here before?" No. "Was there someone atthe door to tell you how things worked?" Again I said no. "Okay, what can I get for you?" I was like, "...A menu?" Then anotherserver brought me water before that person returned with a menu and water. I was like, "Okay, is this the first puzzle?"???? Anyway. I ordered an Edith Grey tea and the Midwest Poke Bowl. I appreciate the numerous veggie options. I asked theserver about one-person games and several were suggested and explained well. I picked one out to try, then noticed my phone wasdying and spent some time finding the power bank and cords in my bag. The poke bowl came out before I'd gotten through theinstructions, which was fine. It was delicious, even with tofu in place of fish. Lime was really unexpected and very tasty. Atabout this time I started noticing some coordination issues, and my activity tracker buzzed to let me know my heart rate washigh. I've had some issues with vertigo that have been exacerbated this week, so I took meclizine I'd brought with me Read more
Had a private room for the family, and the $45 fee was worth the privacy and noise reduction. Mimosas could be a little stronger... (no one needs that much OJ) but they said they?d had problems with guests getting a little rowdy so I could understand.Breakfast slinger was huge, with plenty of sausage, egg, gravy, and hash browns in just the right proportions. Games were wellkept and clean, with our server providing a brief tutorial on ones we didn?t know. Read more

What a fun experience! A few tips for your first visit: 1. Get on the wait list ASAP! Even though the website said they weren't... busy, they were packed and we waited over 30 minutes. 2. There's a parking lot right next door where you pay $1/hour. Not a badfee, although we got lucky finding someone leaving that paid for the day. 3. They have food and drinks available, but closedown the kitchen from 2-3. We opted for the 2 for $5 cookie deal and they were the best cookies we'd EVER had! 4. There's somany board games to choose from, check out the list on their website ahead of time and do some research. 5. They have a greatsystem of getting help with drinks, ordering food or games right at the table. Ask anyone, they are very helpful! 6. You pay$5/person to play the games, but children under 12 are free. They do discounts based on food or drink purchases though, so thathelps. 7. Check their website for deal days when game fees are waived. Think fun girls night or date night with friends. 8. Fora family of four we spent $30 with tip for 2.5 hours of games and 4 large cookies. We are already planning our next trip! Read more
This is one of the best bars I've ever been to! It has such a great atmosphere and is great if you want to spend a dinner with... your friends! The selection of games is unbeatable and the drinks are amazing! They have a good variety for small and biggroups. I've been in one of their private rooms for a party and in the main area and both times we were always thrilled with theservice! I very much enjoy the flags to request your server instead of having them have to come check in on us every 10 minutes. The only two recommendations I could honestly come up with is to possibly see about extending out the bar depth to allow foreasier two person play or adding in just 1-2 two person tables so then if someone goes on a date they don't take up one of thelarger 4 person tables. Other than that it is a great time and definitely my favorite restaurant and bar in St Louis so far. Read more
