Reviews for De Palm Tree Restaurant in St. Louis, MO

I have visited several states and have had jamaican cuisine and I have to say that De Palm Tree is the best I have had. I've... eaten there several times for years and I've never written a review, but I miss this restaurant so much. The flavor and howwell it's cooked is consistent. The red snapper was cooked crispy and seasoned to the bone, the rum punch was some of the best, and the oxtails were some of the best I've ever had. The family that runs the restaurant is so friendly. The elder mother is myfavorite to talk to. Constantly checking for you to re-open because none of the other spots in St. Louis can touch you! Read more

OMFG best Jamaican food I?ve ever tasted! The jerk chicken is moist, spicy, and fresh. The rice and peas, and cabbage were... awesome! I had a rum punch, this is a party starter! Buy a bottle or two. The flavor was amazing, the portions are huge, and notjust sides. They also have baked red snapper, ox tails, curry goat, I can?t wait to come back and bring my family! It takes 20minutes for the food, and there is no inside seating or tables, but it?s worth putting up with the wait and COOF restrictions. Read more

I had the salmon, my sister ordered the snapper, my son ordered fried platains, and my dad got the jerk wings, no complaints... from any of us! The table went into silence as soon as the food arrived, it was excellent. The portions are generous and theleftovers were just as good later on that evening. Read more

Good Food, Good Service. Worth the wait! Eating here I felt like I was eating in someone's home. Very cozy, all love! Stopped... here for lunch after a failed attempt to visit a other Jamaican restaurant up the road. The wait for food was a little long, butI was very pleased to be delivered a steaming hot plate of Curry Shrimp. This is a rather small place, so I would not recommendit for groups of any size, or small children (definitely no strollers). One must cut through the kitchen to get to the washroom. That could be off putting for some, but it just added to the homey feel of the restaurant for me. Will definitely visit again. Read more

Very small and cramped hole in the wall. No AC but seems very well put together. It's also dark during the daytime inside the... restaurant. I called my order in and told the guy I would be there in 20 minutes and I waited about another 10 minutes to getmy food. Keep in mind it was a Friday afternoon during lunch hour time so, if you're in a hurry give them a good 30 minutes toget your food ready if you are carrying out. Read more

The Oxtail Stew and Plantains were excellent. Very cozy place, but I loved the ambiance. Staff was nice. They do charge between... $1.60 to $1.80, can't recall exactly, to swipe your card, but it is so worth it. Read more
