A really nice Tex Mex restaurant that happens to be in the mall. The food was great. The service was outstanding and the cost... wasn't bad. My fish was cooked perfectly. The appetizer chips and salsa were very good. I would return here any chance that Icould. Read more

Don?t skip the chips! I can?t imagine anyone can get to the 2nd ?limit 2? margarita either! Food is consistently good. They... have a little outdoor seating but it?s always full when we go. They aren?t as full as they were pre-covid for sure and I knowstaffing is hard ? but everyone we?ve gotten here has been too notch. Read more

Hadn't been there in awhile. Thought the food was wonderful. Especially loved the fresh basket of chips. Entrees were plentiful... and very delicious. Server was great and brought us a little treat for dessert. Read more

Had not been to Canyon Cafe for several years. It is on the other side of town and not near any of my normal destinations. ... However, I had a recent opportunity to revisit one of my favorite restaurants. Physically not much has changed. An outsidedining area, inside bar and seating. The restaurant is open to the Frontenac Plaza Mall. Restaurant design is rustic. Servicewas prompt and good throughout. Attentive without being overbearing. The menu is relatively brief. I started with a cup oftheir chowder. It is full of flavor, delicious, should have ordered a bowl. Opted for the street tacos, my dining partner forthe fajitas. My old standby the buffalo meatloaf is on the chef's special rotation and wasn't available that night. With theshort menu concentrating on a few key ingredients the food was presented rather quickly, had barely finished the chowder when itarrived. The street tacos were excellent, full of flavor. My partner's fajitas smelled wonderful, to be honest she ate farmore than she normally would. In a moment of weakness ordered the sopapillas. Puff pieces covered with honey and cinnamon, served with two scoops of ice cream. My only negative is the noise level in the restaurant is quite high, some additionalacoustic treatment would be a definite improvement. Read more

Could?ve been better. Been here several times and seems to be hit or miss. Most recent visit was a carry out order and they... forgot all of the toppings that came with fajitas we had ordered - so no cheese, no guacamole, no sour cream, no pico and nomargarita slaw. Called to let them know and was told manager would call me back, but never did receive a call or follow up.Maybe you will have better luck but there are so many other Mexican food options in town to choose from that do better. I wish this was a 5 star review but unfortunately it is not. I got the burger with fries and to be honest I was surprised by the... bun which was a jalapeno bun and toasted well and was very good with the burger. The burger was not exceptionally good but notbad. The fries.....the fries- Let me paint a picture in your mind, I'm sure you have all seen these types of things, well I haveat least. You're in a rural area and as you're looking around you see a shed but when you get closer you see that it's arestaurant; run by one person. Imagine the food from a place like that- the grease, fries overcooked, unseasoned low quality.Well that's pretty much what these tasted like. As you can see in the photo I only 2 fries were consumed, and there's a reasonor reasons why... I don't know if it was the cook today or the fries themselves? This is a great place for a lot of things andI do recommend this location for anything else but the fries, trust me not the fries. Read more

Great food one of the best entrees I've had in a long time . The waitress (Shayna) was extremely helpful and friendly . I was so... impressed with her going above and beyond her job duties. I will definitely be asking for her again. The staff was also graciousand friendly walked around multiple times asking about the food. You can really tell they take alot of pride in their food andservice. We can't wait to come back and this already became one of our favorite restaurants in St.Louis. Read more
