I feel kinda crazy saying that this was my best food experience in St. John's. I mean who would have expected that a... hotel/airport restaurant can be this good. Usually they aren't much to write home about. It's a steak house so I decided tohave some steak in a hamburger form. Pretty huge and delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly. Make sure to work someovertime before coming here because it can get a bit pricey if you decide to order a prime meaty treat. Read more

Went with two ladies in their mid seventies. One asked for a senior or kid's menu. (Anybody could see they were petites, not big... eaters). When he was asked, the manager sharply said there wasn't any. Tone was abrupt, not good P.R. We ordered a dish ofsliders (2), tasty but it came with nothing else, fish and chips, very average, and a seafood dish consisting of 2 shrimps and 2scallops, good but again nothing else apart from a mushroom sauce. Very pricey for what we got. Even though we had made abooking, table wasn't ready, so when we sat down the table was still very wet, so much so menus were sticking to the table. Wehad to use our napkins to dry the table! No coasters for glasses, etc. Our young waiter, not at faut, was sweet and slightlyembarrassed. He did his best at small talk, yes we tipped him!, but needless to say, we won't go back. This industry shouldacknowledge our growing aging population with a smaller appetite, but with a desire to dine out and therefore the restaurantsshould accommodate their needs. This was, is, the Rock's loss, as both ladies have a sweet tooth but decided to pass on dessertand tea/coffee. There are in town other places smarter than the Rock and this is where my friends will enjoy a meal and happilyspend their money with their family and friends. So will I. Read more

This is my second visit in one week to this establishment and the cuisine was excellent. First visit I had steak which was done... to perfection. Meal service was excellent. This evening I enjoyed the chicken dinner which was succulent. The cuisine andstandard of service by Brittany was beyond excellent. Brittany went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience wasexceptional. I highly recommend taking in the Rock Steakhouse for a fabulous dining experience. Read more

Wow, what a spot!! From the decor to the hosts/service staff and the food, it was GREAT! Even got a visit from the manager... after to see how we enjoyed our experience and thanked us for coming and asked if we'd be back. We will, definitely!! Wouldlove to try everything on the menu! Read more

Airy and spacious. For a steakhouse, the seafood entrees was excellent as well. I would pass on the artichoke dip though. It... was heavier than I thought it would be and the pitas were terribly overseasoned. The road to get to the restaurant is a bitconfusing as the entrance to the parking lot is not off the main road. The best restaurant experience in St. John's. The food and service easily beats out the keg, fish exchange and other 'high-end'... restaurants in town. The food we have here is always amazing, the servers are extremely friendly, outgoing and very helpful.There is not much better you can get in town than The Rock Steakhouse. Also I hope they decide to put the Rosé sangria on thesummer list because it was delicious! Thank you so much to our amazing server Brittany who was the absolute best. She went farabove and beyond for us and was one of the best servers we have had in Canada, let alone Newfoundland. What a wonderful late lunch at The Rock!! With a delicious starter of fish soup (as pictured) for myself and Caesar salads for... the others in our party, we all thought it was an excellent start. The soup was one of the best soups Ive had. We had a mainmeal of fish tacos and fish and chips and all were excellent. The desserts were amazing, I recommend trying the creme brulee. Spotted "The Rock" on our way in from the airport and thought it looked promising, we were not disappointed! Meals, 12oz serloin... with garlic mashed potatoes, brisket burger with loaded baked potato, flat iron steak with parmesan truffle fries, steak Rockpappardrelle, tenderloin with parmesan truffle fries were all excellent. Meat doneness was as requested all around. Pricedappropriately for portion sizes and quality, no complaints there. Cool relaxed atmosphere, music not too loud, bet this placewill feel super cozy in the winter. Also really important to us was Brittany our ALL-STAR server. Girl knows her menu, madegreat suggestions for before dinner beverages and appetizers and her dinner recommendations were spot-on!! Fun sense of humorand made a terrific dinner even better!!
